Revenue receipts register 12.41 percent growth over corresponding period of previous year
Regularly review revenue targets; Give special focus to recovery of arrears and enforcement
Jaipur, September 2026 : During the current financial year, the State’s total revenue receipts from major revenue-earning heads stood at Rs 57,396 crore up to August 2026, as against Rs 51,061 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year. This represents a 12.41 per cent increase in revenue receipts. The Chief Secretary was reviewing the revenue receipts and action plans of major revenue-earning departments at theSecretariat on Wednesday.
The Chief Secretary directed the departments to sustain the pace of revenue growth. He directed the departments to regularly review their revenue targets and, wherever revenue receipts are low, identify the reasons and formulate an action plan for improvement. He also directed that special attention be accorded to the recovery of outstanding revenue, effective enforcement, time-bound disposal of pending cases and better use of technology.
The Chief Secretary directed all revenue-earning departments to work towards achieving the prescribed targets through regular review and effective action plans. He emphasised the need for effective control over illegal mining and further strengthening of the monitoring mechanism. He also directed that effective action against overloading, overspeeding and violations of transport rules be continued.
Additional Chief Secretary, Mines and Petroleum, Smt. Aparna Arora informed the meeting that revenue receipts from the mining sector stood at Rs 4,162 crore up to August, registering a 20.26 per cent increase over the corresponding period of the previous year. Revenue receipts from the petroleum sector stood at Rs 1,107 crore.
Principal Secretary, Finance, Shri Vaibhav Galriya apprised the meeting of the overall revenue position of the State and department-wise progress. He also provided details of the revenue receipts of the major revenue-earning departments against their respective targets and the growth in revenue receipts compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
Principal Secretary, Revenue, Shri T. Ravikant informed that regular reviews are being conducted at the level of Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors for expeditious disposal of pending land allotment cases. Special attention is also being accorded to the recovery of outstanding land revenue and expeditious disposal of important pending cases before revenue and civil courts.
Principal Secretary, Transport, Shri Bhawani Singh Detha informed that the Transport Department had realised Rs 3,095 crore in revenue up to August, as against Rs 2,748 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, Smt. Anandi joined the meeting through video conference and informed that revenue receipts from Goods and Services Tax (GST) stood at Rs 19,622 crore, while receipts from Value Added Tax (VAT) stood at Rs 11,448 crore up to August. Compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, these registered growth of 9.07 per cent and 14.09 per cent, respectively. Similarly, the Registration and Stamps Department realised Rs 6,313 crore in revenue up to August, which was 27.38 per cent higher than the Rs 4,956 crore realised during the corresponding period of the previous year.
The meeting also reviewed the revenue receipts of the Excise, Labour, and Urban Development and Housing Departments. Senior officers of the concerned departments were present on the occasion
