Outstanding Teachers and Meritorious Students of Pune District Education Board Felicitated
Pune, August 2026 : Education is not merely a process of earning a degree but a journey that shapes an individual’s personality and gives meaning to life, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar said on Thursday. She urged students to complement academic knowledge with values such as sensitivity, honesty, discipline, perseverance and gratitude.
She was speaking at a felicitation ceremony organised by the Pune District Education Board at Balgandharva Rang Mandir to honour outstanding teachers and meritorious students. Pune District Central Cooperative Bank Chairman Digambar Durgade, Education Board Vice-President Rajendra Ghadge, Treasurer Mohanrao Deshmukh, Deputy Secretary L.M. Pawar, Joint Secretary A.M. Jadhav, Honorary Secretary Sandeep Kadam and State Women’s President Vaishali Nagawade were among those present.
Pawar said education plays a crucial role in developing not only knowledge but also values and character. “Education does not merely make a person literate; it makes them aware and gives them a broader perspective on life,” she said.
She noted that every student’s success is the result of their determination, the sacrifices made by their parents and the vision and guidance provided by teachers. Therefore, teachers, parents and educational institutions must work together to ensure the holistic development of students.
The Deputy Chief Minister described the Pune District Education Board as a symbol of the vision of the late Ajit Pawar and an important institution in Maharashtra’s educational history. She said the organisation has embraced modern technology and undertaken several initiatives aimed at the overall development of students.
Pawar said efforts would continue to take the institution forward while preserving the values of transparency, discipline and social commitment that were promoted by the late Ajit Pawar.
She emphasised that the cooperation of all stakeholders would be essential for the institution’s continued progress. While performing the noble task of imparting education, discipline and transparency must be given the highest priority, she said.
Pawar also made it clear that misconduct within the institution would not be tolerated under any circumstances. She stressed that institutional discipline and accountability are as important as maintaining quality in education.
“Along with academic excellence, students must develop sensitivity, honesty, discipline and gratitude. They should always remain grateful to their educational institutions, teachers and parents who have contributed to their growth,” she said.
Pune District Central Cooperative Bank Chairman Digambar Durgade also addressed the gathering and shared his views on the importance of education and the role of educational institutions in shaping the future generation.
During the ceremony, outstanding teachers and meritorious students of the Pune District Education Board were felicitated by Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar in recognition of their achievements and contribution.
A large number of institution members, branch heads, teachers and students attended the programme.
