Telangana BJP Chief Hits Back at Rahul Gandhi Over Allegations of Foreign Support to PM Modi

Hyderabad, Nov 2026 : Telangana BJP president Ramchandar Rao on Tuesday criticised Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over his social media allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi receives financial support and backing from foreign entities.

Rao questioned Gandhi’s alleged links with foreign organisations and individuals, accusing him of making baseless charges against the BJP while ignoring questions about his own party’s associations.

Speaking to IANS, Rao said Gandhi should remember that the Congress was founded by a foreigner and alleged that the party was now almost being led by one.

"Rahul Gandhi has tweeted on X that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is receiving foreign financial support and backing. He must first remember that his party was formed by a foreigner and is now almost headed by a foreigner," Rao said.

The Telangana BJP chief further alleged that Gandhi had expressed support for foreign countries, including Bangladesh and Nepal, and received backing from US-based investor George Soros.

"You take examples from countries like Bangladesh and Nepal and receive support from a foreigner like George Soros. You speak against India during your visits to Europe and America," he alleged.

Rao also accused the Congress leader of questioning India's position on Pakistan after the surgical strikes and referred to an alleged agreement with China. He questioned Gandhi's criticism of the BJP over foreign support, claiming that the Congress leader himself had links with foreign entities.

"You speak against India and support foreign countries like Pakistan when surgical strikes take place. You signed a pact with a country like China. You yourself are half foreign. Then why are you alleging that the BJP is receiving foreign support? In fact, you are the one receiving foreign support. Such statements reflect intellectual hollowness," Rao said.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh also joined the criticism of Gandhi, accusing him of attempting to create unrest in the country with the backing of foreign money and forces.

"Creating unrest in the country with foreign money, foreign forces and foreign inspiration, opposing the government and government institutions, and tarnishing the country's image has become Rahul Gandhi's tradition. He is moving in the same direction," Ghosh said.

Earlier on Monday, Gandhi had alleged that Prime Minister Modi received "foreign help" to come to power and remain in office. He also claimed that India's financial system was "controlled and supported" by foreign entities and that international social media platforms backed the Prime Minister.

The exchange marks another round of political sparring between the BJP and Congress, with allegations of foreign influence emerging as a point of contention between the ruling party and the opposition.
