Hyderabad, Aug 2026 : Telangana is steadily emerging as a hub for space technology by encouraging startups and promoting innovation, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said on Sunday while extending greetings to scientists, engineers and technical experts on the occasion of National Space Day.
The Chief Minister praised the scientific community for its contribution to strengthening India’s position in the global space sector and said the country’s achievements reflected years of dedication, research and technological innovation.
Reddy congratulated scientists, engineers, technical experts and other personnel whose efforts have brought recognition and prestige to India in the field of space exploration.
Recalling the historic success of Chandrayaan-3, he said India had demonstrated its scientific and technological capabilities to the world by successfully landing on the lunar south polar region.
“With the success of Chandrayaan-3, India has demonstrated its scientific and technological prowess to the world by setting foot in the lunar South Pole region,” the Chief Minister said in a social media post.
He noted that such achievements were made possible through years of hard work, commitment and sustained research by scientists and technical teams.
Reddy also called upon the younger generation to develop a strong spirit of innovation and pursue ambitious goals in science and technology.
He urged young people to dream big and remain determined until their aspirations were achieved.
“Science is our strength… Innovations are our future… Space must be our next destination,” he said, emphasising the importance of developing a strong innovation ecosystem for the country’s future.
The Chief Minister’s remarks come as Telangana seeks to strengthen its position in emerging technology sectors by supporting startups and encouraging private participation in advanced industries, including space technology.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Science and Technology Pawan Kalyan also extended greetings to scientists and the wider space community on National Space Day.
Kalyan described India’s space programme as a journey from ambition to achievement, highlighting major milestones such as the Chandrayaan-3 lunar landing, the Aditya-L1 solar mission and the SpaDeX docking demonstrations.
“From a dream in the sky to a landmark on the Moon, Bharat’s space journey is a story of vision, courage and scientific excellence,” Kalyan said.
The Jana Sena leader said India’s space sector had entered a new phase under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with policy reforms and greater private-sector participation creating opportunities for startups, industries, researchers and young innovators.
He specifically highlighted the role of IN-SPACe in building a stronger ecosystem for private participation in the space sector.
Kalyan also pointed to the country’s ambitious future missions, including Gaganyaan, India’s planned human spaceflight programme, and the proposed Bharatiya Antariksh Station under the long-term Space Vision 2047.
He praised the scientists, engineers, technicians and young innovators contributing to India’s expanding space ambitions.
“For Bharat, the sky is not the limit. The universe is the horizon,” Kalyan said, underscoring the country’s aspirations to become a major global space power.
The messages from the leaders come as India celebrates National Space Day, commemorating the historic Chandrayaan-3 landing and highlighting the growing role of innovation, startups and private industry in the country’s space ambitions.
