Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the youth of the country must come forward and actively participate in politics. Alongside becoming doctors and engineers, young people should enter politics and contribute to strengthening democracy. Many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had rejected a career in the Indian Civil Service after clearing the ICS examination and joined the freedom movement to free the country from the shackles of British rule. The initiative to connect the youth with democracy, parliamentary traditions and policy-making is commendable. It is a gratifying experience to see the youth of the country coming together to deliberate on the future of India.
Chief Minister Dr Yadav addressed the inaugural ceremony of ‘Sansad Youth Parliament 2026’, held on Thursday at the Vidhan Parishad in the Assembly Building. CM Dr. Yadav, Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Dilip Buildcon CMD Shri Dilip Suryavanshi inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Young participants from across the country will deliberate in a parliamentary format on parliamentary procedures, democratic values and issues of national importance. The event was organised by Sakaar Drishti Social Foundation and Kaleidohope, Nagpur. At the beginning of the programme, the guests were welcomed with angavastram and mementoes.
Extensive Suggestions Invited for Uniform Civil Code in Madhya Pradesh
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is moving forward with the spirit of unity in diversity, Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, as well as the principle of ‘Jio Aur Jeene Do(live and let live)’. These ideals cannot be realised merely through words; they require strong determination to translate them into action. He said that the rights of every citizen are equal, irrespective of whether one is called Ramchandra or Rahim. Extensive consultations were held in Madhya Pradesh on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), with people from all districts and communities offering valuable suggestions. In the UCC survey, 76 per cent of Muslim women supported the Uniform Civil Code. Madhya Pradesh is among the leading large states in the country to have passed a Bill towards implementation of the UCC.
Sanatan Culture Places Motherhood at the Highest Pedestal
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is the heart of India, while India is the world’s youngest nation. Youth from 12 states and 58 cities are participating in ‘Sansad Youth Parliament 2026’. The House is a sacred institution for framing welfare-oriented policies. The active participation of young women in the Youth Parliament is an effective example of women’s empowerment. Sanatan culture places motherhood on the highest pedestal. The spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ is deeply embedded in Indian culture, viewing the entire world as one family. A mother is the foundation of a family, and even the divine is incomplete without the mother. He said that everyone respects the judiciary's decisions in both letter and spirit. The Supreme Court’s decision paved the way for the construction of the grand temple in Ayodhya.
Youth Parliament Reflects Miniature India
Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that Madhya Pradesh, besides being the heartland of India, is rich in diverse fields and resources. The state is also known as a land of values and traditions that has provided leadership to the country. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is working with full dedication to take Madhya Pradesh forward. He said that organising the Youth Parliament at the Vidhan Parishad today was like witnessing a miniature India. During youth, individuals can play a significant role in shaping their own development as well as the Country’s future. Adi Shankaracharya travelled across the country at a young age to unite India and established the Sanatan monastic institutions.
The first major revolution for independence took place in 1857 and was also led by the youth. Revolutionaries such as Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Ashfaqullah Khan and Pt. Ram Prasad Bismil fought for India’s freedom at a young age. He said that thinkers such as Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee were also supporters of the Uniform Civil Code. Dr. Mukherjee opposed Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and advocated the principle of “One Nation, One Head and One Constitution”.
Today, India is moving towards the Uniform Civil Code, under which all citizens will enjoy equal rights.Under Prime Minister Shri Modi’s leadership, the young generation has been associated with the cleanliness movement and the resolve to build a developed India. The contribution of youth to Viksit Bharat will always be remembered.
Expansion of Industrial Activities Creating Employment Opportunities
Dilip Buildcon CMD Shri Dilip Suryavanshi said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is continuously working to promote industrial development in Madhya Pradesh. Along with large industries, small industrial units are also attracting significant investment in the state. These efforts will create employment opportunities on a large scale. Appreciating the initiative taken by youth through Sansad Youth Parliament 2.0, Shri Suryavanshi said that young people must work for the nation and society with a spirit of service and dedication.
Youth Appreciate CM Dr. Yadav’s Policies
Playing the role of a young parliamentarian, Aarab Singh Sharma said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav wants young people to become job creators rather than job seekers. The Madhya Pradesh Government is making special efforts for sports and youth welfare. He said that 274 Sandipani Schools are currently operating in the state, with 200 more proposed. Educated youth are essential for building a developed India and a developed Madhya Pradesh.
Former Rajya Sabha member and Padma Shri Dr. Vikas Mahatme and Assembly Secretary Shri Arvind Sharma were honoured during the programme. Organisers Shri Vishwajeet Chopde, Sushri Devyani Chopde, Sushri Vaishali Khobde and several young participants were present at the inaugural ceremony.
