Conference for Chief Electoral Officers of States and Union Territories to be Held in New Delhi
Mumbai : The Election Commission of India (ECI) has scheduled a two-day conference for Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all States and Union Territories on March 4-5, 2025, at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi.
This will be the first conference chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar after assuming office. For the first time, the CEC has instructed CEOs to nominate District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to participate in the event. As statutory authorities, CEOs, DEOs, and EROs play a crucial role at the state, district, and constituency levels.
The conference aims to provide a platform for discussion and knowledge-sharing among election officials across states and union territories.
Agenda of the Conference
- Day 1:
Discussions will cover key aspects of modern election management, IT architecture, effective communication, social media outreach, and the statutory roles of various election officers. - Day 2:
CEOs from different states and UTs will present their action plans based on the discussions from the first day.
