‘Unity March’ Held In Kolasib To Commemorate The 150th Birth Anniversary Of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Kolasib, Nov 2025: As part of the nationwide celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister, a ‘Unity March’ was organised today in Kolasib under the banner of MY Bharat to promote national integration.

The event was presided over by Kolasib Deputy Commissioner Robert C. Lalhmangaiha.

The Unity March began at 6:30 a.m., starting simultaneously from two locations — Diakkawn and Venglai. Participants from both routes converged at Park Kawng, and from there marched together up to the Kolasib Stadium, where a formal programme followed.

The programme at Kolasib Stadium was conducted by DIPRO David A. Lalhmingchhuana, and District Youth Officer Satlian Joy (MY Bharat) delivered the vote of thanks.

Guest of honour DC Robert C. Lalhmangaiha addressed the gathering, highlighting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s historic role in unifying India and his extraordinary contributions to nation-building. He also emphasised the importance of fostering strong unity among the people of Kolasib and Mizoram.

After his speech, the Deputy Commissioner led the gathering in a pledge-taking ceremony marking the significance of the day.

The event included a special song performance by HD Lalruatfeli, followed by a cultural presentation by the Tumpui Cultural Club.

Today’s Unity March in Kolasib saw enthusiastic participation from students of various schools, along with members of MUP, YMA, MHIP, MJA, and several government officials.
