Chief Minister Honors International Shooter Divyanshu in Raigarh During “Good Governance Festival”, Hails World Record Achievement

Raipur, May 2026: During the Good Governance Festival (Sushasan Tihar), Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, who was on a visit to Raigarh, felicitated international shooter Divyanshu Devangan at the Collectorate’s Srijan Auditorium. The Chief Minister honoured Divyanshu by presenting him with a medal and a prize, congratulating him on his historic achievement and extending best wishes for his bright future.

Divyanshu Devangan won the gold medal in the 10-metre air rifle mixed team event at the ISSF Junior World Cup 2026 held in Cairo, Egypt. Not only did he secure the gold medal, but he also set a world record, bringing immense pride to Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, and the entire country on the international stage. His achievement has created an atmosphere of joy and pride across the state.

Chief Minister Sai also met Divyanshu’s parents and grandmother and congratulated them on his success. He said that Divyanshu’s accomplishment is a matter of pride for the entire state. The Chief Minister added that Divyanshu has proven through hard work, discipline, and dedication that talent from smaller cities can also shine on the global stage and bring glory to the nation.

He further stated that the state government is committed to providing all possible encouragement and support to sports talent across Chhattisgarh. According to him, such achievements will inspire many young athletes in the state to pursue excellence in sports.

Finance Minister and Raigarh MLA OP Choudhary also congratulated Divyanshu Devangan on the occasion. He said that the young shooter has elevated the name of Chhattisgarh at both national and international levels through his dedication and talent. He added that Divyanshu is a role model for the youth and his success will motivate future generations to actively participate and excel in sports.
