Raipur, June 2026 : The state government is continuously working towards making farming more profitable, sustainable and respectable through modern technologies, innovations and farmer-friendly policies. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said this today while interacting warmly with farmers from various districts of the state at the ‘Mukhyamantri Kisan Samvad’ programme organised in Raipur. On the occasion, he shared his personal experiences related to farming and agriculture and discussed farmers’ questions and suggestions in detail.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that he himself comes from a farming family and got the opportunity to take responsibility for farming and family duties at a young age. For this reason, he closely understands the needs, challenges and struggles of farmers. He said that earlier farming was completely dependent on rainfall and there was a lack of modern technologies and facilities, but today major changes have taken place in the agricultural sector. With the use of machines, scientific methods and new technologies, productivity has increased and new opportunities have opened up for farmers.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, farmers’ welfare has been given the highest priority. Schemes such as the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, agricultural loans at zero per cent interest, improved seeds, irrigation facilities and agricultural mechanisation have provided economic support to farmers.

Chief Minister Sai said that during Sushasan Tihar, direct interaction with farmers in villages gave him the experience that the benefits of various government schemes are bringing positive changes to farmers’ lives. He said that the confidence visible on the faces of farmers is the real success of government schemes.

Interacting with the women drone operators (Drone Didis) present at the programme, the Chief Minister discussed the usefulness of drone technology in agriculture. He said that through drones, nano urea and nano DAP can be sprayed in less time, at lower cost and with greater effectiveness. This is making farming modern, scientific and profitable, while also creating new opportunities for employment and self-employment for women.

The Chief Minister described nano urea, nano DAP and organic farming as necessities of the future. He said their use reduces costs, increases production capacity and also ensures the preservation of soil fertility and the environment. He urged farmers to maintain a balanced use of chemical fertilisers and adopt natural and organic farming practices.

Addressing the farmers, the Chief Minister said there is no need to pay attention to any rumours regarding the availability of fertilisers and manure. The state and Central governments have ensured adequate arrangements of fertilisers and seeds for the upcoming Kharif season, and strict monitoring is being carried out to prevent black marketing and hoarding.

At the programme, progressive farmers from different districts of the state shared their experiences in advanced cultivation of crops such as guava, dragon fruit, sweet lime, papaya and mango. The Chief Minister said that crop diversification is an effective means of increasing farmers’ income and that, in line with changing times, farmers should adopt horticulture, natural farming, organic farming and other innovations along with traditional agriculture.

Chief Minister Sai said that today’s youth view farming not merely as a tradition but as a modern enterprise. He described this change as highly positive for the agricultural sector. The state government is implementing various programmes to promote agriculture-based skill development, drone operations, agricultural machinery, organic farming and agri-entrepreneurship.

At the conclusion of the programme, the Chief Minister urged farmers not to hesitate in adopting new technologies and innovations. He said that by embracing changing technologies with time, farmers can achieve higher production and better income at limited cost. He added that innovation, scientific thinking and modern technology will be the foundation of farmers’ prosperity in the future.
