Power supply restored swiftly even after storms and strong winds, field personnel remained deployed

UPPCL issues strict instructions: Ensure prompt redressal of complaints and uninterrupted power supply

Lucknow, June 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the power supply system in Uttar Pradesh continues to remain strong and efficient. The government’s commitment to providing uninterrupted and adequate electricity to the people of the state during the intense summer season is now being recognized at the national level as well. In terms of demand-based power supply, Uttar Pradesh has surpassed several states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, and is continuously supplying electricity in accordance with demand.

Despite rising power demand in the state, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is currently ensuring adequate electricity supply to consumers.

In Uttar Pradesh, 28,770 MW of demand-based power supply was provided at 12:21 AM on the night of June 2-3. Similarly, 28,321 MW was supplied at 1:00 AM and 26,830 MW at 3:00 AM. On June 3, power supply stood at 23,459 MW at 6:00 AM, 22,452 MW at 9:00 AM, 24,074 MW at 10:00 AM, 24,897 MW at 11:00 AM and 25,076 MW at 12:00 noon.

According to official figures, Uttar Pradesh supplied 27,976 MW of demand-based electricity on June 2. This figure was significantly higher than that of several major states. On the same day, Tamil Nadu recorded 19,198 MW, Karnataka 13,848 MW and Andhra Pradesh 13,018 MW of demand-based power supply. Moreover, this performance is not limited to a single day.

Uttar Pradesh has consistently performed better in power supply over several days. On June 1, the state supplied electricity corresponding to a demand of 27,260 MW, while on May 31, it supplied electricity against a demand of 24,610 MW.

Despite increasing temperatures and growing use of air conditioners, coolers and other electrical appliances, the state’s power system has remained stable. This has provided significant relief to general consumers, farmers, traders and industrial units. However, recent storms and rainfall in several parts of the state temporarily affected the power supply in some locations.

Despite this, the electricity department acted swiftly and restored supply in most affected areas. Repair and maintenance work is still underway at some affected locations in parts of Mau, Ghazipur and Sonbhadra.

Departmental teams are continuously present in the field and are working to completely normalize the power supply system. Dr Ashish Kumar Goel, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy, and Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited, has issued clear instructions to officials that wherever power supply is affected, information must be immediately communicated to both the media and consumers. All officers and employees have been directed to exercise special vigilance in their respective areas.

Dr Goel also instructed that special inspection drives should be conducted in areas where load suddenly increases during night-time, so that no technical disruptions occur. Complaints received on the 1912 helpline should be resolved promptly.

UPPCL Director (Distribution) Gyanendra Dhar Dwivedi stated that the Power Corporation is working with complete commitment to ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply to consumers. Despite rising temperatures, electricity is continuously being supplied in accordance with demand. Wherever power supply has been affected due to storms and strong winds, our teams are continuously present in the field carrying out repair and restoration work.

He added, the Power Corporation’s objective is to ensure uninterrupted, safe and quality electricity supply to every consumer in the state as per the prescribed schedule.
