Odisha Charts Roadmap for Scaling AgriPV and Climate-Resilient Growth

  • Odisha State Energy Action Plan (OSEAP) web platform for long-term energy planning launched

Bhubaneswar , June 6 2026 : A high-level workshop on “Scaling AgriPV in Odisha for Climate-Resilient Growth” was held today in Bhubaneswar with policymakers, energy experts, developers, and agriculture sector representatives.

Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo inaugurated the event. Key launches include, Report on “Empowering Farmers through AgriPV” by GRIDCO Ltd. and Vasudha Foundation, Odisha State Energy Action Plan (OSEAP) web platform for long-term energy planning, Two 150m Wind Resource Assessment Masts at Sonapur and Gopalpur, Ganjam, and Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreements for a 125 MW / 500 MWh BESS project across six substations.

Dy CM Shri Singh Deo said AgriPV can boost farmer incomes while advancing Odisha’s clean energy goals, reinforcing the State’s commitment to a climate-resilient, farmer-centric model under Viksit Odisha.

Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, Addl. Chief Secretary, Energy, noted Odisha’s holistic approach to energy transition through renewables, storage, and data-driven planning to meet rising demand.

Dr. Satyapriya Rath, MD, GRIDCO, added that AgriPV, coupled with storage and modern planning, can drive sustainable and inclusive growth for rural communities.

The workshop concluded with technical discussions on policy, financing, and implementation strategies to scale AgriPV in Odisha.
