Bhopal, June 2026 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the spiritual merit and divine grace of the Shrimad Bhagavata Katha are such that merely listening to it helps alleviate human suffering and sorrow. He stated that hearing the Bhagavata Katha brings relief from hardships and contributes to the welfare of the entire world. It also aids individuals’ spiritual advancement.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that such religious events hold special significance in Indian culture. They provide positive direction to society and promote harmony, goodwill, and inner peace in people’s lives. He noted that the Shrimad Bhagavata Katha helps individuals understand the essence of dharma and morality. It is a divine source of wisdom that inspires people to fulfil their duties and dedicate themselves to the service of humanity. The Chief Minister stated that the Bhagavata Katha serves as a sacred medium for spreading the ideals and messages of Lord Shri Krishna among the masses.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the concluding ceremony of the seven-day Shrimad Bhagavata Katha, held from June 1 to 7 at Tankariya Panth village in Ujjain district on Sunday, through video conferencing from Samatva Bhavan at the Chief Minister’s Residence.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Lord Shri Krishna faced numerous hardships in his life, yet he rose above them and brought an end to misrule represented by Kansa. He always remained steadfast on the path of righteousness. Addressing the large gathering of devotees, he urged them to incorporate the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita into their daily lives.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that the State Government will develop grand Shri Krishna pilgrimage centres at all places associated with Lord Krishna’s divine pastimes. He informed that major Shri Krishna pilgrimage sites will be developed at Narayana village in Ujjain district and at the Anka-Jhanka Mataji complex in Dhar district.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, responding to local demands, announced the construction of all-weather roads from Tankariya Panth to Lepad and from the village to Ranapur Phatak.He also announced financial assistance for the construction of a shed at the local dharamshala and sanctioned a grant for the establishment of a gaushala.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, addressing women beneficiaries, said that the Government would continue to provide financial assistance to Ladli Behna beneficiaries as a festive token during the upcoming Raksha Bandhan. He also assured senior citizens that all eligible persons would be facilitated under the Government’s pilgrimage schemes.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described the Bhagavata Katha as an important medium for promoting spiritual awakening and cultural values in society. He said, congratulating the organising committee, saints and devotees for the successful conduct of the seven-day event, that their collective efforts had significantly contributed to the spread of cultural and spiritual consciousness in the region. The Chief Minister stated that such programmes help strengthen social unity, harmony and moral values.

Renowned Bhagavata preacher Shri Rakesh Sharma ‘Shastri’, Shri Manohar Choudhary, Shri Liladhar Patel, Shri Jagdish Patel, Shri Sudama Patel, Shri Sohan Patel, Shri Kanha Patel and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion. A community feast (Bhandara) was also organised by the organising committee following the conclusion of the Katha.
