Lucknow, June 2026 : The pension scheme for Divyangjans has brought meaningful improvements to the lives of lakhs of persons with disabilities across Uttar Pradesh. Implemented under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the scheme has provided beneficiaries with financial security and an opportunity to live with dignity and self-respect. Beneficiaries say that the timely pension helps them meet expenses related to medicines, food, and other essential needs. For many families, this pension has become a crucial source of support for their livelihood.

Expressing their appreciation for Chief Minister Yogi, beneficiaries said that the government’s initiative is making their lives easier and more secure.

Asha and her husband Harilal, residents of Barabanki, said that the pension has strengthened their family’s financial condition. Thanking Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, they said, “The government’s assistance has provided significant relief to their family.” Harilal shared that his wife Asha has a disability affecting one of her arms, while he himself suffers from a serious respiratory illness. Due to health-related issues, he is unable to work regularly. In such circumstances, the disability pension has become a lifeline for their family.

Harilal said, “The timely pension helps cover the costs of medicines and other essential needs, sparing the need to seek financial assistance elsewhere.” He added that he has four daughters, and supporting the family on a limited income is a major challenge, but the pension has provided substantial support.

Similarly, 35-year-old Kaushal, a resident of Gosainganj in Lucknow, has been receiving pension benefits for the last five to six years. Kaushal said, “I started receiving disability pension after the Yogi government came to power. I receive a pension of ₹3,000 every three months, which greatly assists me in meeting my living expense.” Kaushal has a disability in his left leg. He stated that the timely pension provided by the government has significantly reduced his financial difficulties. Thanking Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he said, “The scheme has proved extremely beneficial for persons with disabilities.”

Another beneficiary from Lucknow, Rajnish, also praised the scheme, saying that he has been receiving disability pension benefits for several years. He stated that he supports his family through farming, but the pension provided by the government has become a major source of relief for him.

During the financial year 2025-26, the state government has provided financial assistance to more than 1.2 million eligible persons with disabilities under this scheme.

Under the programme, each eligible beneficiary receives ₹1,000 per month, which is directly transferred to their bank accounts. Through this initiative of the Yogi government, persons with disabilities who do not have a stable source of livelihood and are unable to engage in regular work due to their physical condition are receiving much-needed support and relief.
