MLA Inspects Daliganj, Cracks Down on Encroachments

Demolition to Follow Notices: Dr. Neeraj Bora

• Directs officials to improve civic infrastructure and public amenities
• Orders covering of drain, widening of culvert, relocation of fish market and garbage collection point

Lucknow, June 2026 : MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora on Saturday conducted an on-site inspection of the Daliganj Main Market along with officials from the Municipal Corporation and the Public Works Department (PWD) to review various civic issues affecting the area. During the inspection, he took a firm stand against encroachments and instructed officials to issue immediate notices to identified encroachers. He further directed that demolition action should be initiated against those who fail to remove the encroachments within the stipulated timeframe.

During the visit, Dr. Bora inspected the ongoing mechanised cleaning of the large drain running from Ramlila Maidan towards Mohan Meakin. He instructed Municipal Corporation officials to remove all encroachments over the drain and directed that a retaining wall be constructed using infrastructure development funds. He also ordered that the drain be covered to improve sanitation and public safety.

Additionally, the MLA instructed Public Works Department officials to widen the culvert connected to the drain in order to improve traffic flow and drainage in the locality.

Dr. Bora also directed authorities to relocate the fish market currently operating in Daliganj to a more suitable location. He instructed officials to immediately remove encroachments along Daliganj Station Road in the Collectorganj area and ordered the shifting of the garbage collection point located there.

Emphasising the need for better civic amenities, the MLA instructed Municipal Corporation officials to ensure regular and effective sanitation services across the area. He also called for the prompt repair of damaged roads to improve convenience for residents and commuters.

The inspection was attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner Arun Kumar Gupta, Public Works Department Executive Engineer Satyendra Nath, Zonal Officer Manoj Yadav, BJP Metropolitan General Secretary Ghanshyam Agrawal, Metropolitan Vice President Saurabh Valmiki, Councillor Representative Sudarshan Katiyar, Mandal President Raman Nigam, Amit Gupta, Manish Gupta, Sandeep Verma, Yogendra Pandey, Ayush Valmiki, Sunil Agrawal, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, along with other Municipal Corporation officials, BJP office-bearers, party workers and local residents.
