Telangana Ready to Support Every Investor, Says Revanth Reddy as Amazon Breaks Ground for Data Centre at Future City

Hyderabad, July 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to making the state one of India’s premier investment destinations, assuring industries of world-class infrastructure, speedy clearances and full administrative support. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of Amazon’s upcoming data centre at Future City, the Chief Minister said large-scale investments and employment generation would be the driving force behind Telangana’s long-term economic vision.

Revanth Reddy said the state government is determined to transform Telangana into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047 under its ambitious “Telangana Rising-2047” roadmap. He added that the government’s industrial policies are aligned with the national objective of Viksit Bharat 2047, which aims to make India a $30 trillion economy.

“As part of this vision, we have prepared a comprehensive strategy to increase Telangana’s contribution to India’s Gross Domestic Product from the present five per cent to ten per cent,” the Chief Minister said.

Highlighting the government’s investor-friendly approach, he assured industries that Telangana would provide every possible facility required for establishing businesses.

“We are ready to offer all necessary infrastructure, clearances and policy support for companies willing to invest in Telangana. Our priority is to create employment opportunities while ensuring sustainable economic growth,” he said.

The Chief Minister revealed that the government conducts detailed monthly reviews of industrial projects to ensure timely implementation and remove bottlenecks. Given the scale of Amazon’s proposed investment, the government would now hold dedicated monthly review meetings to monitor the project’s progress.

According to Revanth Reddy, Amazon is expected to invest nearly Rs 1 lakh crore by 2034, making it one of the largest investments in the state’s digital infrastructure sector.

Describing Future City as Telangana’s next growth engine, he said the government aims to develop it into a world-class smart city capable of attracting Fortune 500 companies from across the globe.

“Our vision is to create a state-of-the-art Future City that becomes a global hub for technology, innovation and advanced industries. When a global company like Amazon chooses Telangana, it sends a strong message to other multinational corporations and opens the doors for further investments,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister also recalled the success of the recently organised Telangana Rising Global Summit, which attracted around 3,000 corporate representatives from 108 countries.

He said the summit reflected growing global confidence in Telangana’s business ecosystem and helped shape the government’s broader development agenda.

“We have formulated the Telangana Rising policy with a clear vision of making the state a model of economic development. Sector-specific policies have been prepared for industries, tourism, healthcare, energy, sports and several other key areas,” he said.

Revanth Reddy also highlighted the establishment of the Young India Skill University, saying it would play a crucial role in equipping youth with industry-relevant skills and ensuring a steady supply of trained professionals for emerging sectors.

Speaking about Hyderabad’s transformation over the years, the Chief Minister noted that the city has already earned international recognition because of its world-class infrastructure, thriving information technology and pharmaceutical sectors, international airport and extensive Outer Ring Road network.

He pointed out that nearly 1.34 crore people now live within the Outer Ring Road region, making planned urban expansion essential.

“Our objective is not only to create more employment opportunities but also to ensure Hyderabad develops into a pollution-free global city,” he said.

As part of this vision, the government plans to gradually relocate industries operating within densely populated urban areas, rejuvenate the Musi River and further expand Hyderabad’s Metro Rail network to improve urban mobility.

Revanth Reddy also outlined the government’s ambitious green mobility initiatives aimed at reducing pollution across the city.

He said plans have been drawn up to convert nearly three lakh Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses into electric vehicles over the coming years.

In addition, around two lakh diesel-powered auto-rickshaws operating in Hyderabad will be converted into electric vehicles through retrofitting technology.

To accelerate the transition towards clean transportation, the state government has completely waived registration taxes on electric vehicles despite an estimated annual revenue loss of nearly Rs 1,500 crore.

“We want Hyderabad to avoid the pollution challenges witnessed in several other major cities. Our policies are designed to ensure sustainable urban growth while protecting the environment,” he said.

The Chief Minister explained that the government has categorised the state into ‘CURE’, ‘PURE’ and ‘RARE’ zones as part of a comprehensive development strategy that balances industrial growth with environmental conservation.

Addressing concerns related to land acquisition, Revanth Reddy appreciated farmers who had cooperated with development projects by parting with their land.

He instructed officials to resolve pending issues promptly and ensure that affected families receive fair compensation.

“The government has a responsibility to honour farmers who have contributed to Telangana’s development. Along with proper compensation, we must also create employment opportunities for members of their families,” he said.

He directed Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and former MLA K. Laxma Reddy to hold discussions with protesting farmers, address their grievances and ensure that development proceeds through consensus while safeguarding the interests of landowners.
