Agra, July 2026 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath targeted the Samajwadi Party in Agra and said, “The Samajwadi Party government was building a Mughal Museum in Agra, the very place where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj displayed his valour. We said that the money of the people of Uttar Pradesh would not be used to build a museum in the name of an invader, but in the name of India’s national heroes. The construction of the grand museum in the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be completed by the end of this year.”
The Chief Minister also stated that an important node of the Defence Manufacturing Corridor is going to be developed in Agra.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 53 development projects worth more than ₹342 crore for the Agra North, Agra Rural and Agra South Assembly constituencies.
The Chief Minister was welcomed at the venue with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and was presented with a mace.

During the programme, he visited an exhibition put up by school students, interacted with the children and distributed chocolates to them. He also visited other stalls. The Chief Minister affectionately held young children in his arms, applied tilak on their foreheads and presented them with toys.

The Chief Minister stated, today, I have once again received the opportunity to visit this sacred land of Braj, this ancient city of Agra and the land of the valour and bravery of Maharaja Surajmal.

Paying his respects to the land, he remarked, “When I visited three months ago, I had the opportunity to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects worth ₹6,500 crore. Today, once again, as part of the series of Assembly constituency programmes, I have received the opportunity to interact with the people of these three Assembly constituencies of Agra.”

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the people of Agra and said, Agra blessed the double-engine Bharatiya Janata Party government in 2022 and 2024. As a result, even before Agra could think of a development plan, the double-engine government had already brought it to the city. Today, Agra is progressing towards becoming not only a Smart City but also a new model of a Safe City. Following the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s decision three days ago, this model has become even stronger. The pending approvals related to NOCs for 468 industrial units under TTZ have now been cleared. This means that no one will now be able to stop industries from being established in Agra.

The Chief Minister stated, “I am pleased to inform you that we have already moved ahead towards establishing an international airport in Agra. Agra is now developing not only as a centre of industrial activity in Braj but also as a new hub for tourism. Connectivity has improved significantly. The work initiated by the double-engine government to strengthen every mode of connectivity in Agra is now visible before all of you. Peru’s International Potato Center had to establish a centre somewhere in India. We offered land in Agra, and now the International Potato Center has successfully started its operations here. This will benefit our food-producing farmers, their produce will receive value addition, and after receiving several times higher prices, farmers’ incomes will increase. This will bring prosperity to their lives.”

The Chief Minister stated, “With the Supreme Court giving the green signal to development projects that had remained pending for years due to TTZ, the path has now been cleared for developing Agra as a Smart, Safe and Future-Ready City.”

He added, “Work on multi-level parking, an Integrated Command and Control Centre and modernising the city’s traffic system will now move ahead rapidly. Alongside Agra’s development, the interests of farmers are also being fully protected.”
He observed that after public representatives raised farmers’ concerns, the government found solutions.

He continues by saying, work has been undertaken to increase circle rates so that farmers receive fair compensation for their land. Wherever payment in accordance with the revised rates is not possible, the government will not acquire farmers’ land, and no farmer will suffer any loss.

The Chief Minister said, “The government is approving development proposals from Agra on a priority basis. Accordingly, approval has been granted to develop 10 new townships under the Greater Agra Project at a cost of around ₹5,200 crore. In addition, Atalpuram Township is being developed on the Agra-Gwalior Road at a cost of ₹1,500 crore, where housing and commercial facilities will be created for around 10,000 families.”

He further added that work on the city’s sewage treatment plant is progressing successfully. He also remarked that after Agra’s leather industry, the government is now working to provide global recognition to Petha under the ODOP and ODOC schemes.

The Chief Minister informed, “The government is paying special attention to the conservation of cultural and religious heritage. Approval has been granted for the acquisition of the historic residence associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s stay in Agra. Development works are also being carried forward at Bateshwar Dham, Kailash Temple, Guru Ka Tal, Geet Govind Vatika, the birthplace of Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Bateshwar, Fatehpur Sikri and Sauripur Jain Teerth.”

He also announced that a working women’s hostel with accommodation for 500 women would be constructed in Agra in memory of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. The state government has approved the project and released the required budget.

The Chief Minister stated that development projects worth thousands of crores of rupees are progressing rapidly in Agra. These include bridges, flyovers, road widening and strengthening, polytechnics, ITIs, and the construction of new colleges and universities.

He further added, “Before 2017, those who governed the state were concerned only with their own development. Public money became a medium for the loot and plunder of the Saifai Syndicate.”

He said that during the tenure of the Samajwadi Party and the Congress governments before it, there was corruption in the recruitment of youth, irregularities in schemes meant for the poor, and neglect of farmers’ interests.

He alleged that these circumstances created an identity crisis for the youth of the state, forced farmers to commit suicide, and made daughters and traders feel insecure.

The Chief Minister added by saying, today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government is working with complete commitment for the upliftment and development of every section of society, including villages, the poor, farmers, youth and women, without stopping, without wavering, without tiring and without any discrimination.

He stated, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government is working without discrimination for the welfare of villages, the poor, farmers, youth, women and every section of society. Over the past year, the Central Government has provided government jobs to 12 lakh youth, while the Uttar Pradesh Government has appointed nine lakh youth to government services over the past nine years. The recruitment process is now completely transparent, and youth from Agra, Firozabad, Mathura and every district of the state are receiving equal opportunities. Earlier, the Saifai Syndicate would occupy the entire process. The uncle-nephew duo would indulge in extortion and make the entire recruitment process so controversial that the whole exercise would fail. The courts had to stay the recruitment process.

The Chief Minister said, “There will now be no compromise with the safety of daughters and traders in the state. Anyone who attempts to breach their security has only two destinations – jail or hell.”
He added that the double-engine government is fully committed to strengthening law and order.

Targeting previous governments, he remarked, “They had neither the time nor the vision for development, nor the desire to engage with public representatives and the people. Where a Chief Minister wakes up at 12 noon, gets ready by 2 p.m., goes to the gym at 5 p.m., and after 7 p.m. spends time enjoying himself with his circle of friends, only God could save such a state. Earlier, mafias were active in every district, police stations and tehsils functioned under the influence of criminals, and the state struggled with lawlessness, riots and curfews.”

The Chief Minister informed, “Today, Uttar Pradesh has become a new symbol of development and good governance after becoming free from riots, curfews and mafia rule. Law and order has improved, and the pace of development has accelerated. Development projects worth hundreds of crores of rupees in Agra are part of this development journey.”
He recalled that Agra had earlier received projects worth ₹6,500 crore.

He stated, “The double-engine government is taking development forward at the speed of a bullet train and is working with the goal of developing Agra as a Smart, Safe and Future-Ready City.”

Appreciating the enthusiasm of those present at the programme, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the citizens of Agra Rural, Agra North and Agra South.
