Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Announces ₹491 Crore Development Projects for Rajsamand

Rajsamand/Jaipur, August 2026: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said on Sunday that the double-engine government of Rajasthan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is working towards fulfilling the vision of a Viksit Bharat and Viksit Rajasthan-2047. He said the state government remains committed to the welfare of farmers, women, labourers and youth.

Addressing a programme at Bhikshu Nilayam in Rajsamand, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 347 development projects worth more than ₹491 crore. These included the inauguration of 266 projects costing over ₹369 crore and the foundation stone for 81 projects worth more than ₹122 crore. Sharma said the projects would add a new chapter to the development story of the land associated with the faith of Shrinathji and the valour of Maharana Pratap.

Farmers and livestock owners being economically empowered

Sharma said the state government had increased the Kisan Samman Nidhi from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000 to strengthen the financial position of farmers. Farmers have also received subsidies of more than ₹61,000 crore on electricity bills, he said.

Under the PM-KUSUM scheme, farmers are increasingly becoming energy producers along with being food producers. The government is also providing livestock owners interest-free loans of up to ₹1 lakh under the Gopal Credit Card Loan Scheme, along with a subsidy of ₹5 per litre on milk.

Under the Chief Minister Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana, more than 23 lakh insurance policies have been issued. Sharma also urged farmers to adopt natural and advanced farming practices.

Employment opportunities expanded

The Chief Minister said the government was working to secure a better future for Rajasthan’s youth by creating opportunities from education to employment.

He said 569 people had been arrested in cases related to paper leaks and other irregularities and action had been taken against those responsible. During the past two-and-a-half years, 410 examinations had been conducted without paper leaks.

More than 1.78 lakh appointments have been made to government posts, while recruitment for over 1.32 lakh posts is underway and preparations are being made for recruitment to more than 70,000 additional posts.

Sharma said the Rajasthan Youth Policy was introduced to encourage young people to become job creators rather than job seekers, with a focus on startups, entrepreneurship, skill development and self-employment. Government initiatives have also generated 4.5 lakh employment opportunities in the private sector, he said.

Education, healthcare and social security

The Chief Minister said the state was expanding access to education, healthcare and social security. Students are being provided free books and uniforms, while bicycles have been distributed to 14 lakh girls and scooters to 46,000 meritorious female students.

To strengthen children’s health, milk is being provided five days a week at Anganwadi centres.

Under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme, the government is working towards a healthier Rajasthan. More than 4.82 lakh coupons have been issued to pregnant women for free sonography under the Maa Voucher Scheme.

The social security pension has been increased to ₹1,450 per month, while more than 4.40 lakh houses have been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. LPG cylinders are being provided to eligible beneficiaries for ₹450, while one crore eligible persons have been added to the Food Security Scheme. Around 18 lakh women have been brought into the Lakhpati Didi category to promote economic empowerment.

During the programme, Sharma distributed electronically operated motorised tricycles to persons with disabilities, benefit cheques under various social security schemes, loan cheques to Rajeevika self-help group women and compassionate appointment letters to children orphaned during COVID-19.

Major projects inaugurated

Among the key projects inaugurated were:

• Road strengthening and widening from Oladar Chauraha in Kumbhalgarh to Bhadsoda Chauraha in Chittorgarh at a cost of over ₹64 crore.
• A 220 KV GSS at Dariba, costing more than ₹46 crore.
• A new milk processing unit in Nathdwara costing around ₹40 crore.
• A sports stadium and 52 road-related works in Nathdwara costing around ₹38 crore.
• 38 works involving construction of new health-centre buildings costing over ₹34 crore.
• A sports stadium and 49 road-related works in Bhim costing around ₹31 crore.
• 50-bed maternal and child health unit in Bhim costing ₹21 crore.
• 49 drinking-water projects in Rajsamand, Kumbhalgarh and Nathdwara costing over ₹17 crore.
• 35 facility-related works in schools and colleges across the district costing around ₹15 crore.

Other inaugurated projects included an FSTP plant in Deogarh and a livestock training institute in Nathdwara.

Foundation stones laid for new projects

The foundation stones were laid for 59 road and school-facility projects worth more than ₹47 crore across Rajsamand, Bhim, Kumbhalgarh and Nathdwara, besides 37 road construction works worth ₹25 crore in the Rajsamand Municipal Council area.

Other projects include the survey and DPR preparation for the Bedach Ka Naka Dam and implementation of a rural water supply scheme in Kumbhalgarh, construction of a new community health centre building at Tal, the Khari Feeder Canal project, and works to provide piped drinking water to households.

Projects related to open wells, waste management, STP plants, dams, anicuts, canals, Anganwadi centres and school buildings were also included in the foundation-stone ceremony.
