Mamit District Election Office Receives National Best Election District Award for Model Code of Conduct Implementation and Enforcement

Mamit, January 2026: On the occasion of National Voters Day 2026 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, the Mamit District Election Office was honoured with the Best Election District Award for exemplary implementation and enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct.

The award recognises the successful management of the 2-Dampa (ST) Assembly Constituency Bye-Election in November 2025, where the district office ensured strict compliance with the Model Code of Conduct and conducted the election efficiently and transparently. The award was presented to Ms. Ethel Rothangpuii, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Mizoram, by President of India, Ms. Droupadi Murmu.

It was noted that the Mamit District Election Office received this recognition specifically for its diligent efforts in ensuring full adherence to the Model Code of Conduct during the 2-Dampa(ST) AC Bye-Election. During the ceremony, election officials lauded the district office for its leadership and meticulous execution, which enabled Mamit to earn the Best District Award.
