Major achievement by Team Yogi in Davos, investment proposals worth nearly ₹3 lakh crore received

31 MoUs signed after 119 high-level meetings, major investment in Data Centres, Green Energy and Manufacturing

Lucknow, January 2026 : At the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, from 19 to 23 January 2026, the Government of Uttar Pradesh achieved a major milestone by securing investment proposals through MoUs worth nearly ₹3 lakh crore, amounting to more than ₹2.92 lakh crore.

After returning from the conference, the Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Suresh Kumar Khanna, presented a detailed account of Uttar Pradesh’s participation and investment achievements at the World Economic Forum during a press conference held on Tuesday at Lok Bhavan Auditorium.

He described this achievement as a significant step in establishing the state as a leading global investment destination on the world investment map.

The Finance Minister informed during the conference, “The delegation of Uttar Pradesh held 119 high-level meetings involving 55 to 56 major global companies. As a result of these meetings, 31 MoUs were signed in sectors including data centres, renewable energy, waste-to-energy, manufacturing, defence, logistics, tourism, food processing, EV, pharma, healthcare and artificial intelligence”.

Through these MoUs, a total proposed investment of more than ₹2.92 lakh crore has been received, which is a major achievement for Uttar Pradesh.

The Finance Minister also stated, “The largest investment proposal was finalized with the Netherlands-based company AM Green. Under this MoU, an AI-based 1 gigawatt data centre will be established in Greater Noida”.

Through this project, an investment proposal of approximately ₹2.10 lakh crore is planned by the year 2028. This project will not only bring a digital and technological revolution in the state, but will also generate large-scale employment through associated ancillary industries.

Along with this, an MoU worth ₹200 crore was also signed with ASR Technology. Meanwhile, Uber expressed interest in expanded mobility collaboration and the possible establishment of a Global Capability Centre.

Director of UPNEDA Indrajeet Singh said, “Significant MoUs were signed in the renewable energy sector at the Davos conference. These include ₹1000 crore in solar rooftop and battery energy storage, ₹1100 crore in a hybrid electric vehicle plant, ₹10,500 crore in solar power projects and solar module manufacturing, and ₹3800 crore in a green manufacturing park consisting of 3 gigawatt solar cell module manufacturing and a 60 megawatt solar plant”.

In addition, a non-financial MoU with NTPC Green Energy regarding renewable energy and green hydrogen was signed, and investment proposals worth ₹8000 crore were received from REC Limited for 500 megawatt agricultural waste-to-energy projects.

The Finance Minister stated, “Rashmi Metaliks has committed an investment of ₹4000 crore for a 1 MTPA integrated steel plant. In addition, detailed discussions were held with companies such as AB InBev, Godrej, Philip Morris International and Schneider Electric regarding smart factories, Industry 4.0 and supply chain development”.

Discussions were held with DuPont, Ramco Group and Schneider Electric on partnership possibilities in water management, irrigation, sewage and waste management, microgrids and smart buildings. DuPont proposed pilot projects in Jhansi and Lucknow, Noida and Varanasi, highlighting potential costs of approximately ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 per solar unit in Uttar Pradesh.

Extensive discussions were held with global technology companies, including Google, Uber, ASR Technology, Tech Mahindra, Cisco, Deloitte, Google Cloud, AutoNation Energy and SS Technology. These discussions focused on Global Capability Centres, AI, data centres, digital governance, skill development and mobility solutions. On the other hand, investment discussions were also held in healthcare, pharma and life sciences.

Bayer Consumer Health and AGLT Technologies deliberated on opportunities in agro-processing, pharma, diagnostics, research and development and life sciences sectors. Bayer Consumer Health highlighted the possibilities of expansion in the state’s industrial hubs.

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said, “All MoUs signed in Davos will be regularly monitored and followed up on. A dedicated single-window team will be constituted for the implementation of these 31 investment proposals, which will provide time-bound support from approvals to project operations.

He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly moving forward towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047″.

The Finance Minister stated, “Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has participated in the World Economic Forum for the third consecutive year, effectively showcasing the state’s development potential, investor-friendly environment and strong governance system. This participation further strengthened the state government’s commitment to establishing Uttar Pradesh as a globally competitive investment destination”.

He informed that this global conference, organized on the theme “Samvad Ki Bhawana”, saw participation from nearly 3000 representatives from more than 130 countries. These included over 60 heads of state, top global industry leaders, policymakers, representatives of civil society and innovators.

From the Government of India, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi, Minister for IT and Electronics Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of Civil Aviation K. Ram Mohan Naidu participated in the conference. Ten states from India marked their presence on this platform, with Uttar Pradesh emerging as a leading participant.

The Finance Minister also added, under the “Partner With India” theme, the Uttar Pradesh Pavilion set up at the India Pavilion remained crowded with investors throughout all four days. While other state pavilions witnessed limited activity, the UP Pavilion saw a continuous influx of global investors, industry representatives and policymakers.

The Finance Minister also added that “Uttar Pradesh’s law and order, infrastructure and connectivity have earned the trust of investors. He informed that earlier the state had only 2 cyber police stations, whereas now cyber police stations have been established in all districts. Due to MSME and ODOP schemes, Uttar Pradesh’s exports have increased to ₹1.86 lakh crore, and the state’s products are gaining recognition in the global market”.

On this occasion, all members of Team UP who attended the World Economic Forum were present. These included Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner Deepak Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Office Amit Singh, CEO of Invest UP Vijay Kiran Anand and Director of UPNEDA Indrajeet Singh.
