Honour for 25 Years of Exceptional Courage by the Chhattisgarh Police Force in Strengthening Law and Order and Anti-Naxal Operations
Raipur, January 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today unveiled the Silver Jubilee Medal dedicated to the Chhattisgarh Police Force at the Police Headquarters in Nava Raipur. Extending his congratulations to the police force, he said that this medal would become an enduring symbol of the indomitable courage, valour, and sacrifice displayed by the police in maintaining peace and security in the state. It may be recalled that on January 26, Republic Day, the Chief Minister had announced the awarding of the Silver Jubilee Medal to the state police force, and acting swiftly on this announcement, the medal was unveiled today.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that over the past 25 years, the Chhattisgarh Police Force has demonstrated extraordinary bravery in strengthening law and order and in anti-Naxal operations, often making the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. He added that this medal would serve as a lasting tribute to their dedication and commitment.
The Chief Minister further stated that the medal embodies the identity of Chhattisgarh’s soil, culture, and traditions. The medal is circular in shape and silver in colour. The front side features an embossed image of the Sal tree, while the reverse bears an embossed image of the Hill Myna (Pahadi Maina). The medal will be worn with a ribbon.
It will be worn on the left side of the uniform, above the pocket, in the order of precedence after the Ashoka Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Gallantry Medals, President’s Distinguished Service Medal, and the President’s Meritorious Service Medal.
The Hill Myna depicted on the medal symbolises alertness, communication, fearlessness, connection with local culture, and the team spirit of the police force. The Sal tree represents strength, resilience, longevity, protection, ecological balance, and the message of making a powerful contribution even in silence. Just as the Sal tree is revered in the Bastar and Sarguja regions of Chhattisgarh, this medal will honour the dedication, service, and commitment of the police force towards society and will stand as a symbol of the glorious traditions of the Chhattisgarh Police.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Director General of Police Shri Arun Dev Gautam, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Home Department Secretary Shri Himshikhar Gupta, Director General of Police Housing Corporation Shri Pawan Dev, ADG Shri SRP Kalluri, ADG Shri Pradeep Gupta, ADG Vivekanand Sinha, ADG Shri Deepanshu Kabra, ADG Shri Amit Kumar, and other senior officials were present.
