Chief Minister Attends Distribution Of Oxygen Concentrators Donated By Formosa Foundation
Aizawl, May 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Lalduhoma today attended as Chief Guest the distribution programme of 500 oxygen concentrators donated by Formosa Foundation through the Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA). The programme was held at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl. Lt. Gen. Vikas Lakhera, Director General of Assam Rifles, attended the function as Guest of Honour.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Formosa Foundation has consistently extended valuable support to Mizoram and its people over the years and has always been a source of blessing for the State. He expressed deep appreciation for the Foundation’s continued generosity.
He recalled that Formosa Foundation, in collaboration with CYMA, had earlier donated ambulances to 13 Group YMAs, one vehicle each to MTP and YLA Sub-Headquarters, 500 sets of disaster relief blankets and 190 sets of kitchen utensils to CYMA. The Foundation had also provided Bolero Campers to nine YMA Sub-Headquarters for anti-drug initiatives, school buses to two schools, and numerous donations to orphanages, hospitals and churches. The Chief Minister particularly acknowledged the Foundation’s immense contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to Lt. Gen. Vikas Lakhera and the Assam Rifles for their continued service to Mizoram and for assisting in the transportation and distribution of the oxygen concentrators.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt. Gen. Vikas Lakhera said his own family had personally experienced the importance of oxygen concentrators, and expressed confidence that the donated units would greatly benefit those in need. He thanked Formosa Foundation for its humanitarian assistance to the people.
Shri Jonathan Lalremruata, Chairman of Formosa Foundation, also addressed the gathering. He stated that the Foundation remains committed to assisting those in need and contributing in every possible way for Mizoram. He expressed hope that the oxygen concentrators would be put to good use for patients requiring medical support, and reaffirmed the Foundation’s desire to continue working together with the Government and NGOs for the welfare of the State.
The programme was chaired by Prof. Lalnuntluanga, Vice President of CYMA. Father Jerome Vungbiakdika led the invocation, while Prof. Malsawmliana, General Secretary of CYMA, presented a report. Shri R. Lalngheta, President of CYMA, also delivered a speech.
The 500 oxygen concentrators distributed on this occasion were allocated not only to selected YMA branches within Mizoram, but also to branches in Assam, Tripura and Manipur, as well as certain YLA and MTP branches. Zuangtui Branch YMA donated its allotted units to Behliangchhip Branch in Tripura.
