Jagan Mohan Reddy Warns of Counter Action if ‘Jungle Raj’ Persists in Andhra Pradesh
Amaravati, Feb 2026 : YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday issued a sharp warning to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, alleging a complete breakdown of law and order in the state and cautioning that party workers would respond firmly if what he described as “jungle raj” continued.
Speaking to the media in Guntur after meeting the family of senior YSRCP leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu, Jagan Mohan Reddy accused the ruling coalition of misusing government machinery for political vendetta. He said the state was witnessing unchecked lawlessness, with political opponents being targeted through false cases, intimidation, and violence.
“The situation in Andhra Pradesh has deteriorated into jungle raj. There is no respect for law and order. Chandrababu Naidu is abusing both governance and policy institutions solely to serve his political interests,” Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged.
The YSRCP chief said the Chief Minister was attempting to distort facts following what he termed the exposure of false claims in the Tirupati laddu adulteration controversy. He pointed out that central laboratories had given a clean chit on allegations of adulteration, forcing the coalition government to announce another inquiry committee in an apparent attempt to save face.
Referring to the Supreme Court-monitored CBI Special Investigation Team (SIT) chargesheet, Jagan Mohan Reddy said there was no mention of animal fat being used in the preparation of laddus. He further noted that neither the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairmen of the previous period nor any YSRCP members were named in the chargesheet.
He added that reports from the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), which were annexed to the chargesheet, clearly stated that no animal fat was found in the ghee samples tested after the Chandrababu Naidu-led government assumed office.
Despite these findings, Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister continued to spread misinformation to divert public attention. He accused the ruling alliance—naming Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh, and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan—of orchestrating a conspiracy to mislead people and defame political opponents by allowing provocative posters and false narratives to circulate openly.
“When our leaders raised questions about this blatant misuse of power, they were targeted. False cases were registered against leaders like Ambati Rambabu, Jogi Ramesh, Vidadala Rajini, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, and Bolla Brahmanaidu,” he said, alleging that TDP workers attacked the homes of Ambati Rambabu and Jogi Ramesh with deadly weapons.
Calling the attacks a clear example of political hooliganism, Jagan Mohan Reddy said the events proved that lawlessness continued unabated under the present government. He asserted that the YSRCP would not remain silent in the face of intimidation.
“We will not take this lying down. In the coming days, we will explore every democratic and legal avenue to fight this injustice with renewed strength,” he said.
Issuing a stern warning, the former Chief Minister said those responsible for orchestrating violence and targeting opposition leaders would be held accountable. “All perpetrators will have to face the consequences for their actions,” he added.
