Mumbai, Feb 2026 : The ‘Mahapashudhan Expo’, a major livestock exhibition, is being organised at Parli Vaijnath in Beed district from February 13 to 15, with farmers and livestock rearers placed at the centre of its planning and execution. Environment, Climate Change and Animal Husbandry Minister Pankaja Munde directed officials to ensure that all preparations are made keeping this objective in mind.
The exhibition will be held at Parli Vaijnath over the three-day period, and Minister Munde reviewed the preparations for the event. The review meeting was attended by Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Ramaswamy N., Animal Husbandry Commissioner Dr. Pravinkumar Devre, Beed District Collector Vivek Johnson, along with senior officials of the Animal Husbandry Department from across the State via video conferencing.
Minister Pankaja Munde said the exhibition should be organised with the goal of promoting strong and sustainable livestock. She noted that the Mahapashudhan Expo would play an important role in providing farmers and livestock rearers with information on new livestock breeds, animal care and management practices, and the latest technologies in the sector. Therefore, all arrangements should be made from the perspective of farmers and livestock owners. She stressed that officers from the Animal Husbandry Department and the district administration must work in close coordination to ensure the success of the exhibition. She also directed that discussion sessions be organised to educate farmers on organic farming and the various benefits derived from livestock.
Around 1,500 animals will be displayed at the exhibition. In addition, informational stalls from various State Government departments, including Agriculture and Women and Child Development, will be set up. Stalls run by self-help groups will also be established. Given the large number of visitors expected, officials were instructed to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to attendees. The exhibition premises must be kept clean and safe. Separate enclosures should be created for women, with necessary facilities and adequate security. CCTV cameras should be installed to ensure the safety of animals participating in the exhibition. Minister Munde also directed that medical aid centres, ambulances, fire safety arrangements, police security and volunteers be deployed at the venue.
The exhibition will feature animals of various breeds, with special arrangements made for their care. A dog show and nearly 40 different competitions for various animals have been planned. These competitions will be evaluated appropriately, and winners will be awarded prizes. Along with livestock from Maharashtra, high-quality and award-winning animals and birds from other states will also be showcased, for which proper planning should be undertaken. Social initiatives such as a blood donation camp and organ donation consent drives will also be conducted at the venue.
Minister Munde further directed that special afternoon visiting hours be reserved for women and students. Students from veterinary colleges and farmers from across the State should be invited to attend the exhibition. She also suggested inviting public representatives, particularly from the Marathwada region, to encourage wider participation.
Appealing to farmers, livestock rearers, veterinary experts and students from across the State, Minister Munde urged them to attend the Mahapashudhan Expo in large numbers.
