CM Launches ₹529-Crore Development Package for Didwana–Kuchaman
Jaipur, February 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the soul of India resides in its villages and that the state government is working continuously for rural upliftment. He stated that the Gram Utthan Shivirs being organised across the state are a symbol of the government’s accountability to the people. He appealed to citizens to visit these camps, obtain complete information about government schemes, and avail themselves of maximum benefits.
The Chief Minister was addressing a Gram Utthan Shivir and public meeting in Ladnun on Friday. He said the government’s objective is to ensure that farmers, the poor, and livestock rearers in Rajasthan are not deprived of welfare schemes. With this intent, Gram Utthan Shivirs have been initiated at every girdawar circle so that rural residents can access government welfare schemes close to their homes.
Steps to Strengthen Rural India
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has introduced several initiatives to empower rural India, including a law that will ensure 125 days of assured employment annually in rural areas. All work will be digitally recorded, ensuring transparency, with wages directly credited to beneficiaries’ accounts. He added that this will also lead to the creation of permanent assets in villages.
On-the-Spot Benefits Through Gram Utthan Shivirs
Sharma said that over 1,500 Gram Utthan Shivirs have been organised across the state so far, with more than 7.7 million services delivered. Over 98,000 Soil Health Cards and more than 55,000 Ownership Cards have been distributed. Applications for 30,000 Kisan Credit Cards, treatment of over 5.1 lakh livestock, vaccination of more than 77,000 animals, and nearly 29,000 registrations under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme have been completed. Approvals for fencing, farm ponds (diggi), pipelines, solar pumps, sprinkler irrigation, registration of dairy cooperatives, and allotments under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana are also being carried out through these camps.
Two Years’ Work Surpasses Previous Five Years
The Chief Minister said that the work done by the present government in two years far exceeds what the previous government achieved in five years. He noted that irrigation facilities were created over 99,562 hectares through canal systems in two years, compared to 52,182 hectares during the entire five-year tenure of the previous government. Similarly, 344 lakh metres of farm fencing were completed in two years, far surpassing earlier figures. Assistance of ₹3,433 crore was provided to gaushalas in two years, compared to ₹3,117 crore over five years by the previous government.
Farmers Are the Backbone of the Economy
Calling farmers the foundation of the economy, Sharma highlighted steps taken to enhance farm incomes, including daytime electricity in 22 districts, increased assistance under PM-Kisan, a ₹150 wheat bonus, ₹50,000 crore in interest-free crop loans, expansion of drip and sprinkler irrigation, construction of farm ponds, and distribution of over 17 lakh Soil Health Cards.
Employment Opportunities for Youth
Sharma said that paper leaks under the previous government had harmed youth aspirations, but transparent examinations have been conducted during his tenure with zero paper leaks. He said over one lakh appointments have been made so far, recruitment is underway for more than 1.5 lakh posts, and a calendar for another one lakh posts has been released. He assured youth that the government stands firmly with them.
