Chief Secretary’s Visit to Saitual District – Meeting with Heads of Office
Saitual, February 2026: Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena visited Saitual District today and held a meeting with the Heads of Office of the district. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Saitual, Pu Srinivas Sadi.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary welcomed the officers from various departments in Saitual and stated that this was his first visit to the district. He expressed hope that the visit would be productive and meaningful. Pu Khilli Ram Meena pointed out that Saitual District is a drug-affected area and stressed that the government and the general public must work together to combat drug abuse. He instructed the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police to work closely with community and church leaders and to make every possible effort in this regard.
The Chief Secretary also stated that since Saitual District shares borders with Manipur and Myanmar, it is important to ensure proper biometric registration of refugees as well.
He further mentioned that there are many beneficial Central Government schemes, and that a large number of people are making use of these schemes for development and livelihood support. To ensure effective implementation and maximum benefit, he emphasized the need for strong coordination among all departments.
The meeting was chaired by Pu Srinivas Sadi, Deputy Commissioner, and included a detailed discussion on issues related to Saitual District. Pu Gaurav Tyagi, Superintendent of Police, also gave a detailed presentation on police-related matters and activities.
During his visit, the Chief Secretary inspected various projects under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) at Seling. After meeting with the Heads of Office in Saitual, he also visited Tamdil. At Tamdil, he was accompanied by Pu Srinivas Sadi, Deputy Commissioner; Pu Tharun Patnaik, SDO (S); Pu Andrew Lalthlamuana, ACF, Aizawl Forest Division; Pu F. Vanlalfela, DFDO, Saitual; and Pi Lalsangzuali from the Tourism Department.
Following the Tamdil visit, Pu Khilli Ram Meena inspected the under-construction District Hospital at Saitual being built under the NESIDS (OTRI) scheme. On this occasion, he was received by Pi Zothanpari Chhakchhuak, Deputy CMO, along with hospital staff.
