Tej Pratap Yadav Unveils Bihar-Wide Padyatra, Targets RJD and Signals JJD’s Expansion Drive

Patna, Feb 2026 : Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) chief Tej Pratap Yadav on Monday signalled an aggressive political push in Bihar by unveiling a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the party’s organisational base and expanding its reach across the state.

At a crucial meeting with party workers in Patna, Tej Pratap announced that he would soon undertake a statewide padyatra, covering all 38 districts of Bihar. He said the foot march would take him to villages and small towns, allowing him to engage directly with people, understand their concerns and build a stronger connect with the grassroots. According to him, the padyatra would play a key role in energising party workers and consolidating the JJD’s presence at the local level.

While laying out his expansion roadmap, Tej Pratap also launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), particularly targeting party MLC Sunil Singh. He accused Singh of repeatedly disrespecting party workers and alleged that such conduct had damaged the RJD’s organisational strength and electoral prospects. Tej Pratap claimed that internal arrogance and disregard for cadre had contributed to the party’s dwindling numbers in the legislature.

Taking his criticism further, he alleged that certain individuals within the RJD had undermined the political stature of his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav. Tej Pratap asserted that “traitors” inside the party had weakened Lalu Prasad’s influence, leading to a situation where his authority no longer carried the weight it once did. Referring to Sunil Singh, he remarked that the MLC had long been aligned with his maternal uncle and remained closely associated with him.

In a major political assertion, Tej Pratap declared that Janshakti Janata Dal, and not the RJD, represents the true political legacy of Lalu Prasad Yadav. He claimed that the JJD carries forward the ideology and values that his father once stood for, positioning his party as the rightful heir to that political tradition.

The JJD supremo also announced that the party’s national executive meeting and an open convention would be held on April 16. He described the date as significant and said the gathering would be instrumental in shaping the party’s future strategy and organisational direction.

Further underlining his party’s ambitions, Tej Pratap stated that the Janshakti Janata Dal would contest the upcoming MLC elections and field candidates in all constituencies. The move, he said, reflects the party’s determination to expand its political footprint and emerge as a serious force in Bihar’s evolving political landscape.
