Raksha Bandhan, the festival of the sacred relationship between brother and sister: Sisters tied Raksha Sutra on the wrists of security forces

Raksha Bandhan, the festival of the sacred relationship between brother and sister, was celebrated with great joy in various camps located in remote areas of Kanker district today. On this special occasion, women beneficiaries of Mahtari Vandan Yojana and sisters of self-help groups tied Rakhi to the soldiers of the security forces and prayed for their safety. The soldiers got emotional when the sisters tied Rakhi and they also presented gifts to their sisters while promising to protect them.

In this Raksha Bandhan event, Mrs. Hina Gawade of village Bhuski tied Rakhi to the security forces personnel at BSF 178 Battalion Bhuski located in Durgukandal development block of Kanker district. Similarly, Mrs. Kamila Netam of village Bhuski also expressed her feelings while tying Rakhi at BSF 178 Battalion. She said,
 “Security forces personnel remain deployed for the security of the country and state, away from their homes and families. In such a situation, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, it is the duty of us sisters to not let their wrists remain empty.”

In the same sequence, Rakhi was tied to the soldiers of BSF Camp Kanhar village, SSB Camp of Kevati cluster under Bhanupratappur development block and 28th Battalion Sashastra Seema Suraksha Bal situated in Antagarh. Apart from this, women tied Rakhi to the soldiers on Rakshabandhan at various places in the district including Kuhche Camp Antagarh, BSF Camp Pratappur of Koylibeda development block, COB 162 Battalion BSF Camp Raoghat. The sisters said that the wrists of the soldiers of our country who are protecting us by staying alert day and night will never remain empty. This event was not only encouraging for the soldiers but it was also a proud occasion for the sisters.

On this occasion, the beneficiary women of Mahtari Vandan Yojana expressed special gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai for Mahtari Vandan Yojana. He said, “Mahtari Vandan Yojana has played an important role in honoring motherhood and empowering women.
