Providing Social Security and Economic Empowerment to Workers Is the State Government’s Priority – Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade
Raipur, February 2026 : A Shramik Jan Samvad and Conference programme was organised at the auditorium in Tilsinwa, Surajpur district, under the chief guestship of Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade. The objective of the programme was to connect workers, daily-wage labourers and unorganised sector workers with various government welfare schemes and to provide them with social security and financial assistance.
During the programme, detailed information was shared about the schemes being implemented by the Labour Department so that every eligible worker could benefit from them. Through the conference, financial assistance amounting to ₹99,66,627 was distributed to 2,539 beneficiaries of the district. Symbolic demo cheques were also handed over under the Mahtari Jatan Yojana, Siyan Yojana, and the Naunihal Scholarship Scheme.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade said that the Shramik Jan Samvad is not merely an event, but a strong platform for establishing direct communication between the government and workers. She emphasised that the state government is fully committed to providing social security to workers, improving their standard of living, and empowering them economically. Describing workers as the backbone of development, she also honoured them on the stage.
On this occasion, Surguja Member of Parliament Chintamani Maharaj, Pratappur MLA Shakuntala Porte, Chairman of the Labour Welfare Board Yogesh Dutt Mishra, former Chairman of the Textbook Corporation Bhimsain Agrawal, public representatives, distinguished citizens, Collector S. Jayavardhan, Labour Officer Allen Minj, officials from concerned departments, and a large number of workers were present.
The conference reaffirmed the state government’s resolve to strengthen the welfare framework for workers and ensure that benefits of government schemes reach the last person in the unorganised sector.
