Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Takes Serious Note of Badlapur Incident; Accused to Face Fast-Track Trial
Mumbai : Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has taken a serious note of the recent abuse of girls at a school in Badlapur, warning that strict action will be taken against the management of any institution where such incidents occur. He has directed that the case be tried in a fast-track court to ensure the accused are dealt with swiftly and severely. Chief Minister Shinde has also discussed the matter with the Commissioner of Police and instructed authorities to verify whether ‘Sakhi Savitri Committees’ have been established in schools.
After learning about the abuse of two girls at a well-known school in Badlapur East, Chief Minister Shinde immediately consulted with Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, urging permanent measures to prevent such incidents. He suggested that a complaint box be installed in every school for students or parents facing issues. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of closely monitoring school employees who are in regular contact with students and conducting thorough background checks.
Chief Minister Shinde also stressed the need for a system that allows students to report concerns to the principal or teachers without fear. He urged school management to engage in regular discussions with teachers and staff to ensure proper vigilance. In light of the incident, Chief Minister Shinde has appealed to railway protesters to remain calm.
