Rs. 600 Crore to Be Sanctioned for Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme Land Acquisition by June 2: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad, Feb 2026 : Hon’ble Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday announced that ₹600 crore will be sanctioned by June 2 for land acquisition under the J. Chokka Rao Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme (JCRDLIS) in Mulugu district. Emphasising the government’s commitment to fast-tracking irrigation infrastructure, he directed officials to submit all pending project estimates for government approval well before the forthcoming Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly.
The Chief Minister made these remarks after inspecting the Devadula pump house, following which he chaired a detailed review meeting with ministers and senior officials. During the review, he instructed that repair works on the Devadula pump should be completed within one month, underscoring the importance of restoring the system to full operational capacity without delay. He also stated that all estimates related to the Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme would be placed before the Cabinet for approval in its March meeting.
To ensure closer monitoring and coordination, the Chief Minister announced that a special meeting involving public representatives and concerned officials would be convened in the Committee Hall during the Legislative Assembly session. This meeting will focus exclusively on reviewing the progress, challenges, and timelines associated with the Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme.
In a significant policy decision, Shri Revanth Reddy revealed that the state government will establish a dedicated corpus fund for land acquisition for all major projects across Telangana. He said compensation for affected landowners will be cleared through the Green Channel mechanism, ensuring swift payments and preventing land acquisition issues from hindering project execution.
The Chief Minister stressed that timely land acquisition and uninterrupted funding are crucial for completing irrigation projects that are vital for agricultural growth, water security, and overall development of the state.
