Invitation to Submit Proposals for District Youth Award

Mumbai : According to Maharashtra’s state sports policy, youth is recognized as a crucial factor. To reward and encourage young men and women for their contributions, the state has introduced State and District Youth Awards under its new youth policy. At the district level, one young man and one young woman will each receive a certificate, a badge, and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/-. Additionally, registered institutions will be awarded a certificate, badge, and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.

An individual who has received a Zilla Yuva Award in one district is not eligible to apply for the award in another district within the state. Applicants must submit an official certificate proving residence in Maharashtra for the past five consecutive years. The prescribed application format is available at the link provided in the government decision reference.

Applications must be submitted between 11 AM and 5 PM on working days from August 20 to October 18, 2024. The completed application form, along with required scanned and attested documents, three passport-size photographs, and other relevant materials, should be compiled into a booklet and submitted in a sealed envelope to the District Sports Officer’s Office, Mumbai Suburban, College of Physical Education Campus, Samata Nagar, Kandivali, Mumbai, by October 18, 2024.

For more information, contact 022-20890717 during office hours. According to the government decision, the District Youth Award will be evaluated for the years 2022-23 and 2023-24. The work of youth and youth development organizations during the last three years, from April 1 to March 31, will be considered. This includes social work conducted in rural and urban areas, preservation and conservation of state resources, and efforts that contribute to nation-building, especially for weaker sections of society, scheduled castes, tribes, and tribal areas. Other eligible work includes activities related to vocational education, adult education, employment, health, environment, culture, arts, sports, entertainment, science, technology, business, women empowerment, combating feminicide, de-addiction, and the holistic development of youth. Efforts to promote national integration, urban slum improvement, disaster management, local issues, adventure, and more will also be considered.

The District Youth Awards will be presented by dignitaries on January 26, 2025, after evaluating the respective work. The District Sports Officer, Mumbai Suburban, has requested that eligible youth, young women, and registered organizations from the Mumbai Suburban District submit their proposals to this office.
