Review of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 Progress with NITI Aayog Officials in Mamit
Mamit, February 2026: Today, a review meeting was held at the DC Conference Hall, Mamit, to assess the ongoing implementation of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0. The review was conducted by Swapnalee Bhattacharya, ISS, Deputy Director General, NITI Aayog, along with Ngayaipam A. Shimray, Young Professional, NITI Aayog. The meeting was chaired by Carolyn L.B. Khiangte, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mamit.
During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the initiatives undertaken under Sampoornata Abhiyan 1.0 and highlighted the current status of Mamit district along with areas requiring further intervention. C. Lalchhandami, SDC, led the discussion on the implementation plan for Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0, scheduled from January 28, 2026 to April 14, 2026, and elaborated on achievements so far as well as future action plans.
An interactive question-and-answer session followed, during which representatives from various line departments presented their challenges and requirements to the NITI Aayog officials.
Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 is being implemented from January 28 to April 14, 2026, across Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks in India. In Mizoram, the programme is being carried out in Mamit District and Reiek Block. The initiative focuses on six indicators across three key sectors:
- Health & Nutrition (3 indicators)
- Agriculture (1 indicator)
- Education (2 indicators)
The programme assesses whether line departments are able to fully implement their planned activities within the stipulated period.
Appreciating the progress made by Mamit district, Ms. Swapnalee Bhattacharya commended the efforts and urged officials to intensify their work further, while also emphasizing the importance of effective inter-departmental coordination.
The NITI Aayog officials also visited Primary School V, the District Veterinary Hospital, and Anganwadi Centres in the district. During interactions with officials and staff at these institutions, issues and challenges at the grassroots level were discussed in detail.
