Bora Institute Celebrates Abhivyakti-2026 with Cultural Extravaganza and Dedication to Service

Lucknow, Feb 2026 : The Bora Institute of Allied Health Sciences on Sitapur Road hosted its annual festival Abhivyakti-2026 on Friday, celebrating cultural diversity, academic excellence, and the 18th Lamp Lighting and Oath Ceremony. The event featured vibrant cultural performances, recognition of meritorious students, and a solemn ceremony where nursing students pledged to uphold the values of service, compassion, discipline, and dedication in their professional lives.

The ceremony, inspired by Florence Nightingale, famously known as the “Lady with the Lamp,” saw GNM, ANM, and BSc Nursing students take an oath to perform their duties with utmost dedication toward human service. The festival commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Major General Dr. Ajay Devgan, Vice-Chancellor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, who was the chief guest for the occasion.

Addressing the students, Major General Dr. Devgan encouraged them to take full advantage of the institute’s placement opportunities upon completing their degrees. “Dedication to study is essential, but maintaining your health is equally important. A healthy mind resides only in a healthy body,” he said. He emphasized that students would serve as first responders to patients in need and highlighted the importance of understanding emergency medical care to identify critically ill patients and take timely action to save lives.

He further stressed that saving lives alone is not sufficient; maintaining the quality of life for patients is equally critical. Students were advised to approach patient care with sensitivity, ensuring that treatment aligns with the patient’s needs. Dr. Devgan also highlighted the importance of empathy and communication skills, emphasizing that every healthcare professional must possess these qualities to clearly explain medical procedures, necessary precautions, and treatments to patients.

Praising the Bora Group’s initiatives, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated the institute’s efforts in inspiring students and producing positive outcomes. He wished the students a bright future and urged them to continue working diligently while taking care of their own health and that of their patients.

Youth Hold the Future of the Nation: Neeraj Singh

The guest of honor, Neeraj Singh, commended the efforts of the youth and faculty, emphasizing that the future of the nation lies in the hands of today’s young generation. With nearly 65% of India’s population under the age of 35, he said, “The direction in which the youth move determines the path of the nation and society.” Singh encouraged students to work with discipline and dedication in their respective fields while never forgetting human values alongside academic pursuits.

Referring to the healthcare sector, he highlighted the critical role of paramedical, nursing, and technical staff alongside doctors. “If doctors are the brain of a hospital, the paramedical and nursing staff are its heartbeat. Without them, the healthcare system is incomplete,” he said.

Singh also lauded India’s global contributions, noting that yoga and Ayurveda are among the nation’s priceless legacies. He remarked that Indian startups are gaining global recognition, and young professionals leading multinational companies are bringing prestige to the country. He wished students who plan to study abroad success, encouraging them to represent India as a land of knowledge, innovation, and leadership. He thanked the organizers, faculty, and students for ensuring a successful event and said that the institute’s academic legacy would enhance India’s reputation nationally and internationally.

Healthcare Service is the Greatest Duty after God: Dr. Neeraj Bora

The institute’s founder and Member of Legislative Assembly Dr. Neeraj Bora inspired nursing students to work with dedication, emphasizing that healthcare is the highest form of human service. He stressed that Abhivyakti is not only about showcasing talent but also about awakening the spirit of service within oneself. Dr. Bora remarked, “Our goal is not merely to award degrees, but to create sensitive professionals who can serve patients with patience and a smile even in challenging circumstances.”

He elaborated on the revered status of healthcare professionals, noting that after God, the highest respect is accorded to those who protect human life. Upon obtaining a degree and registration, healthcare workers gain the authority to administer treatment, and patients entrust their lives to their competence. This responsibility demands exceptional care, sensitivity, and ethical conduct.

Dr. Bora also highlighted the significance of regular attendance, stating that the medical curriculum is vast and that classroom learning cannot be substituted. Students missing classes risk gaps in essential knowledge, potentially affecting their entire career. He emphasized that competition for 100% attendance in his institute encourages discipline and fosters student success.

He lauded the exceptional performance of the students, noting that they consistently bring honor to the institute wherever they go. Dr. Bora praised the cultural presentations and acknowledged the efforts of students and faculty involved in choreography and stage execution. He also recognized Principal Dr. Sheila Tiwari for her year-long dedication to mentoring students and nurturing them into “shining diamonds,” attributing the institute’s continuous progress to such committed educators.

Chairperson Bindu Bora emphasized the importance of moral values and discipline, while Principal Dr. Sheila Tiwari extended her best wishes to the students for a bright future. Other dignitaries present included Dr. Devashish Shukla, CEO of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Dr. N.B. Singh, Chief Medical Officer, and prominent local physicians.

The cultural program began with a Ganesh Vandana, followed by performances of semi-classical music, Qawwali, Bollywood freestyle dance, Garba, and folk dances from various Indian states, captivating the audience. Theatrical performances on “Four Ages” and women empowerment stood out as major highlights of the evening.
