State Policy Commission Will Play Key Role in Charting Long-Term Development: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the State Policy Commission will play a significant role in shaping the long-term development vision of Chhattisgarh. He made the remarks while attending the oath-taking ceremony of Ganesh Shankar Mishra, who assumed charge as the Vice Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Policy Commission at Niti Bhavan in Nava Raipur on Thursday.

Congratulating Mishra on taking up the important responsibility, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes and expressed confidence that his experience would help guide the commission effectively.

The Chief Minister said that the State Policy Commission is an important institution that will give new direction and momentum to the development of Chhattisgarh through long-term vision planning, evidence-based policymaking, and improved coordination among various departments. He noted that the commission will play a vital role in preparing development plans and strategies by keeping future needs and challenges in mind.

Sai further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is rapidly moving toward the goal of a developed nation by 2047. Inspired by this vision, the Chhattisgarh government has also prepared the “Chhattisgarh Vision Document 2047” to outline the roadmap for the state’s comprehensive and long-term development.

He added that the Prime Minister’s decision to replace the Planning Commission with NITI Aayog was a result of far-sighted thinking. The Aspirational Districts Programme run by the institution is playing a key role in the development of backward regions across the country, and its positive impact has also been seen in the aspirational districts of Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Minister emphasized that a key feature of NITI Aayog is its focus on policy and planning based on the real needs of the regions. Following the same approach, State Policy Commissions have been formed in various states to guide development strategies effectively.

He also stated that the state government is continuously working to accelerate development with a focus on good governance, transparency, and public participation.

Expressing confidence in Mishra’s administrative experience, Sai said the State Policy Commission would gain new direction and momentum under his leadership. He assured that the state government would carefully consider the recommendations of the commission and implement them effectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman Ganesh Shankar Mishra said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is steadily progressing on the path of development. He added that efforts would be made collectively to make the state more prosperous and developed through better and future-oriented policies.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, MLA Lata Usendi, MLA Amar Agrawal, Dhamtari Mayor Ramu Rohra, State Policy Commission member K. Subrahmanyam, Member Secretary Ashish Bhatt, Secretary Bhuvnesh Yadav, and several other officials were also present at the event.
