Badnagar to be Included in Indore–Ujjain Metropolitan Area: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that under the capable leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is reaching new heights on the global stage. Madhya Pradesh holds special significance in the country, and the State Government is carrying forward the journey of development by undertaking remarkable initiatives for every section of society and in every sector. Badnagar in Ujjain district will also remain at the forefront of development and will now be included in the Indore–Ujjain Metropolitan Area. He said that Badnagar is blessed by Baba Mahakal as well as the Chambal, Shipra, and Gambhir rivers. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has performed the foundation-laying ceremony of the country’s first PM MITRA Park in Dhar, and the benefits of this mega textile industrial park will also reach the people of Badnagar.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced that gaushalas operating in the Badnagar region will be provided partial financial assistance from discretionary funds to purchase machines for crop residue (narwai) management. He said that this will help in resolving the issue of crop residue while also ensuring adequate fodder availability for gaushalas. The Chief Minister further announced ₹1 lakh each as financial support for gymnasiums in the Badnagar area to encourage physical fitness and sports activities.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed residents of the Badnagar Assembly constituency who visited the Chief Minister’s Residence to express their gratitude for the approval of the Naiyakhedi–Nagda–Ratlam road. On the occasion, the residents of Badnagar welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a traditional safa and garland. The Chief Minister said that with the blessings of Baba Mahakal, Ujjain and Badnagar are now connected to Ratlam through three major routes. The third new two-lane road will pass near Gambhir Dam via Nagda. The Naiyakhedi–Nagda–Ratlam road project, costing around ₹150 crore, is a major gift for the people of the region. Once completed, the distance to Ratlam will be reduced by about 40 kilometres. The new road will also facilitate smoother arrangements for Simhastha 2028. An airport is also being developed in Ujjain, the benefits of which will extend to Badnagar as well. In the coming years, connectivity between Badnagar, Ratlam, Rajasthan and Gujarat will become easier and stronger. He emphasised that roads are the foundation of development, and these roads will open new avenues of progress for Badnagar and the entire region.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the proposed road is especially important in view of Simhastha 2028. At present, devotees travelling from Ratlam to Ujjain primarily use the Badnawar–Badnagar route, which is approximately 115 kilometres long. The proposed alternative route will be about 74 kilometers long, making it nearly 40 kilometers shorter than the existing route. Once developed, the road will significantly reduce both travel distance and travel time, while also easing traffic pressure on the existing main routes. The Chief Minister also said that we should always remain ready to help our friends, taking inspiration from the life of Lord Shri Krishna. He added that the people of the state are like Lord Hanuman, who only need to be reminded of the strength of public participation, after which the work of the government progresses naturally.
On this occasion, Badnagar MLA Shri Jitendra Pandya, Shri Antar Singh Devda, Shri Umrao Singh, Shri Vijay Chaudhary, other public representatives, and a large number of workers were present.
