Gwalior Regional Conclave to Catalyze Small Industry Development
The year 2025 will be celebrated as Year of Industry in Madhya Pradesh, with groundwork laid in 2024 under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Efforts are underway to create a conducive environment for industrial development across the state. Key events like the Regional Industry Conclave in Ujjain in March, Jabalpur in July, Coimbatore on July 25, and Bangalore on August 7-8 have all served as vital platforms for fostering industrial growth in Madhya Pradesh. The upcoming Regional Conclave in Gwalior on August 28 is set to be a significant catalyst for the development of small industries.
The possibilities of getting investment in food processing, textile and garment industry as well as footwear and leather sector have received a boost in Gwalior. Many industrial institutions like Britannia, Jain Chord, Ankur Udyog have shown interest in investment. Shanti Gears in engineering sector, UTL Solar in solar energy sector, Vonwells, Bombay Leather and Ram Fashion in footwear sector have shown interest.
The one-on-one meetings between industrialists and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav at the Gwalior Conclave will be crucial for attracting investments.Land has been allotted to 73 industrial units, which are expected to generate employment for approximately 3,000 people with an investment of Rs 345 crore across 98 acres. Additionally, the Gwalior Conclave will feature the dedication and Bhoomi Pujan of 27 different industrial units. These projects represent investment proposals totaling Rs 1,420.39 crore and are projected to create jobs for 3,451 people.
In preparation for the conclave, the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department has organized a regional session focusing on opportunities in MSMEs and export potential in the ODOP sector. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has arranged a discussion with entrepreneurs and industry associations from the Gwalior and Chambal regions. Approximately 300 MSMEs and startups have been invited to the conclave. Stalls will be set up to showcase MSME-related policies with appropriate coordination. Additionally, representatives from Gwalior’s stone tile industry and Shivpuri’s cloth jacket sector will be present. To attract investment from neighboring Uttar Pradesh, the Garment Association, Footwear Association, and Hosiery Association of Agra have been contacted, and the MSME department team will also visit Agra for this purpose.
The Regional Industry Conclave to be held at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University Campus Gwalior will have sessions related to tourism, IT, startup, handicrafts, cottage industry, footwear, skill development and higher education along with MSME. Along with about 250 buyer-seller meetings, Gwalior Expo “One District One Product” exhibition will also be organised.
