Raipur, March 2026 : On the occasion of International Women’s Day, during the large Mahtari Vandan programme organized in Bastar on March 8, Mrs. Anita Sahu and Mrs. Mithlesh Chaturvedi interacted virtually with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and shared the changes that the Mahtari Vandan Scheme has brought in their lives. They also expressed their gratitude to him for the initiative.
Mrs. Anita Sahu from village Khodri in Gaurela development block of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district said that with the monthly assistance received under the Mahtari Vandan Scheme, she purchased a sewing machine and started tailoring work. Earlier, she faced financial difficulties because her husband’s mental condition was not stable and she had to bear the responsibility of running the family herself. Now, with income from farming, labour work, and tailoring, her standard of living has improved. She has also registered an enterprise named “Anita Silai Centre” and has received a loan of ₹1 lakh under the Saksham Scheme of the Women and Child Development Department.
Similarly, Mrs. Mithlesh Chaturvedi from Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district said that after the death of her husband, supporting her family became a major challenge. With financial assistance from the government and support from the Mahtari Vandan Scheme, she purchased an e-rickshaw and started a new means of livelihood. She is now supporting her family with dignity and self-respect.
Both women said that the Mahtari Vandan Scheme has not only provided them financial support but also boosted their confidence. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for this welfare scheme.
