T20 World Cup Hero Kuldeep Yadav Marries Childhood Friend in Mussoorie
Mussoorie, March 2026 : India’s T20 World Cup-winning spinner Kuldeep Yadav began a new chapter in his personal life on Saturday as he married his childhood sweetheart Vanshika Chadha in a private ceremony in the hill town of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand.
Kuldeep, who recently played a key role in India’s victory at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, tied the knot in the presence of close family members, friends, and several well-known names from Indian cricket. The wedding came shortly after India’s memorable triumph over New Zealand national cricket team in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where the Indian team lifted the prestigious trophy.
Many prominent cricketers attended the celebrations to wish the newly married couple. Among those present were former India captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, along with fellow players Tilak Varma and Yuzvendra Chahal. Their presence added glamour to the joyful occasion.
The wedding festivities began a day earlier with a traditional Haldi ceremony on Friday. Friends and family members participated enthusiastically in the celebrations. Chahal, known for his lively personality, was seen dancing to the beats of the dhol while applying haldi to Kuldeep, creating cheerful moments that were widely shared on social media.
Former Indian team fielding coach T. Dilip also congratulated the couple through a social media post. He wrote that he was delighted to see Kuldeep marry the love of his life and wished the couple a lifetime filled with happiness, love, and blessings.
Meanwhile, Tilak Varma arrived in Dehradun earlier on Saturday to attend the wedding celebrations. Speaking to reporters outside the Jolly Grant Airport, Tilak said he was looking forward to enjoying the wedding before turning his attention to cricket again.
He added that after the celebrations, he would begin preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 season, where he will represent the five-time champions Mumbai Indians.
Kuldeep and Vanshika, both originally from Kanpur, have known each other for many years. The couple got engaged in a private ceremony in Lucknow on June 4, 2025. Vanshika, whose father works with LIC, is currently employed in Australia.
The wedding was initially planned for November 2025 but had to be postponed because of Kuldeep’s commitments to the T20 World Cup. With the tournament now behind him, the star spinner has finally celebrated both professional and personal victories.
