Mahtari Vandan Yojana fulfilled Vandana’s dream

The Mahtari Vandan Yojana of the Chhattisgarh government is fulfilling the dreams of many women. This scheme is opening the way for a better future for women and their families along with saving. Many women are fulfilling their years-old desires with the money received every month under the scheme. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana has given great support to women who are forced to compromise on their small desires and dreams due to poverty. Like lakhs of women of the state, it has also fulfilled the heartfelt desire of Vandana Rathia of Korba.

Vandana Rathia of Korkoma village of Korba block of Korba district had a great desire to put a small gold locket around her son’s neck since the birth of her son. But due to the poor financial condition of the house, she was unable to fulfill her wish. She had saved some money, but it was not enough to buy a locket. When the Chhattisgarh government started the Mahtari Vandan Yojana in March this year, it was as if Vandana’s luck opened up. She has been receiving one thousand rupees every month since the beginning of the scheme. In six months, Vandana saved so much money that finally the day of her dreams coming true came. She went to the weekly market of the village and got a locket made from a goldsmith and put it around her son’s neck. This was the day of the fulfillment of her nearly four-year-old dream. The happiness and deep satisfaction on Vandana’s face was worth seeing.
    
Vandana Rathia says that the amount received every month from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana is very useful to us. One thousand rupees is a big amount for women like us. The husband’s income is enough to run the household. The money received from Mahtari Vandan Yojana is used for small needs. She tries to save some money every month. If she can save a decent amount little by little, it will help her fulfil her other dreams.
