Officers of the National Defence College pays a courtesy visit to Chief Minister

122 officers are participating in the study programme on Economic Security under National Security and Strategic Studies

NDC officers shows keen interest in understanding Gujarat’s holistic economic development journey

Gandhinagar, March 2026 : A team of members participating in the study course of the National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.

The NDC conducts courses on National Security and Strategic Studies for Brigadier-rank officers of the Indian Armed Forces, Joint Secretary and Director-level officers of Civil Services, and foreign military officers from partner countries.

This year, the batch of the study programme on Economic Security includes a total of 122 officers, comprising 61 from the Indian Armed Forces, 20 from Civil Services, and 41 from partner foreign countries.

As part of the study tour of various states during this programme, a 17-member team of NDC officers visiting Gujarat, led by Rear Admiral Shri Sandeep Singh Sandhu, met Chief Minister on Tuesday. The team included officers from all three wings of the Indian Armed Forces, as well as officers from the Indian Revenue Services, Communication Services, and partner countries.

During this meeting, the NDC officers expressed keen interest in understanding Gujarat’s holistic economic development journey. They engaged in an insightful discussion with the Chief Minister to gain information, particularly on women empowerment, balanced economic growth, and the rapid pace of development.

In this context, Chief Minister stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat has earned recognition as a policy-driven state and has become a model of development. Through the Vibrant Summit, Gujarat has emerged as the first choice for global industrial investors. Along with industrial development, Gujarat has also successfully organised the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference under the leadership of the Prime Minister to promote green growth and balanced regional economic development.

The world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity dedicated to Sardar Patel, has boosted the local economy through tourism and the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative. The Chief Minister elaborated on the state’s holistic development achieved through 24-hour electricity supply, robust road infrastructure, and an extensive canal network that has carried Narmada waters up to Kutch.

Prime Minister has designed every development scheme with the common citizen at the center. Moreover, by adopting a saturation approach, the goal of 100 percent success is being achieved by ensuring that the benefits of schemes reach every eligible beneficiary, the Chief Minister stated while highlighting the Prime Minister’s commitment to socio-economic development.

This meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Sanjeev Kumar and Additional Principal Secretary Dr. Vikrant Pandey.
