Gudi Padwa New Year Celebration in Nagpur

Nagpur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended his शुभेच्छा, saying, “May India’s Gudi continue to rise higher and higher under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” while participating in the Gudi Padwa Marathi New Year celebrations on Thursday.

The programme, organized by the Shri Siddhivinayak Seva Trust and the New Year Celebration Committee, featured a grand procession and a collective recitation of the Ramraksha Stotra at Laxminagar Chowk in Nagpur. Renowned actress Sai Tamhankar attended the event as the chief guest.

The procession began from Shri Ganesh Temple in Tatya Tope Nagar. Along with CM Fadnavis and Sai Tamhankar, the event saw participation from Trust President and MLA Sandeep Joshi, other dignitaries, women’s drum troupes, artists dressed as characters from the Ramayana, and a large number of local residents.

On the occasion, Fadnavis said that the day holds immense significance for every Hindu and Marathi individual. “From today, we begin our new resolutions and move forward in life,” he said, adding that the Gudi symbolizes India’s pride and progress. He expressed hope that under PM Modi’s leadership, this symbolic Gudi of India will continue to soar to greater heights.

A collective recitation of the Ramraksha Stotra was held during the event, and the ceremonial worship of the Gudi was performed by the Chief Minister. Earlier, actress Sai Tamhankar conveyed her New Year greetings to the gathering, while Sandeep Joshi delivered the introductory address.
