World to Witness Grandeur of Sanatan Culture at Simhastha–2028: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

A grand celebration was held at Ram Ghat in the holy city of Ujjain on the occasion of Gudi Padwa, marking the ‘Srishti Aarambh Utsav’. A captivating performance by playback singer Shri Vishal Mishra, along with a drone show, laser show, and spectacular fireworks, enthralled the audience.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the divine destiny of the sacred city of Ujjain has been uniquely written by God. Anyone who visits Ujjain even once finds their life transformed. Situated on the holy banks of Maa Shipra, the city has existed since time immemorial, and its glory has remained eternal through every age. Ujjain, known in ancient times as Avantika and Ujjayini, is home to Shri Mahakaleshwar, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The arrival of Vikram Samvat 2083 was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the city on the auspicious occasion of Varsh Pratipada. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the gathering on Thursday at the inauguration of the Srishti Aarambh Utsav organised at Ram Ghat under Vikramotsav–2026.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that while the world is using modern technologies like drones in warfare, in Ujjain, the same technology is being used to depict divine forms, creating a unique confluence of faith and culture. This reflects the global acceptance of Sanatan culture. Nearly two thousand years ago, the great ruler Samrat Vikramaditya of Ujjain defeated foreign invaders, protected the nation, and established exemplary governance. His throne adorned with 32 figurines, the wisdom of his Navratnas, and his valour and generosity continue to inspire even today. Reviving this glorious legacy, Vikramotsav–2026 is being celebrated across the state. This festival is not only a celebration of culture but also symbolises the re-establishment of ideals of good governance and administration.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that preparations for Simhastha–2028 in Ujjain are progressing at a rapid pace. This edition of Simhastha will be unprecedented and historic. All roads connecting Ujjain are being developed into four-lane and six-lane highways, and approximately 30 kilometres of new ghats are being constructed along the banks of Maa Shipra. He further stated that Ujjain is also being developed from the perspective of trade and industry. Projects such as Vikram Udyogpuri and a Medical Device Park are progressing swiftly. A 12,500-acre industrial area has already been fully developed, and a new park is being established over an additional 5,000 acres. Plans for a new airport and helicopter services are also underway to boost religious tourism. In the coming years, Ujjain will emerge not only as a religious centre but also as a hub of culture, industry and global identity. When the grand form of Simhastha is presented in 2028, the entire world will witness the magnificence of Sanatan culture.

Under the chief patronage of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, a grand and attractive event was organised on 19 March in Ujjain to mark Gudi Padwa and the Srishti Aarambh Utsav as part of Vikramotsav–2026. Held at Ram Ghat and Datt Akhada Ghat along the Kshipra river, the festival showcased a remarkable blend of faith, culture, and modern technology. The program began with cultural performances, followed by a mesmerising musical presentation by renowned playback singer Shri Vishal Mishra.

Thousands of devotees present on the occasion enjoyed the musical performances and enthusiastically welcomed the New Year. Gudi Padwa, regarded as the Hindu New Year and the beginning of Chaitra Navratri, created an atmosphere of religious fervour throughout the city.

Drone Show, Laser Show and Fireworks Illuminate the Sky

The highlight of the event was the grand drone show, laser show, and dazzling fireworks, which lit up the sky above the Kshipra River with vibrant colours and lights. Through the drone show, captivating depictions of religious and cultural themes were presented, leaving the audience spellbound.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released several publications, including the Vikram Panchang 2083 by Maharaja Vikramaditya Research Institute, the Kala Panchang by the Directorate of Culture, 84 Mahadev by Bimal Krishna Das, Orchhadhish by Ramswaroop Das and Bharat Nidhi monographs by Veer Bharat Nyas on Maharshi Atri, Maharshi Angira, Dhanvantari, Maharshi Agastya and Bharat Muni. He also released editions of the Ashtavakra Gita, Narad Gita, Brahman Gita, Garbha Gita, and Uttar Gita published by the Maharaja Vikramaditya Research Institute.

The Srishti Aarambh Utsav, organised under Vikramotsav, once again established Ujjain’s distinct national identity by presenting a unique confluence of religious faith, music, culture, and technology. The event stood as a fine example of Ujjain’s rich cultural heritage, spiritual significance, and modern event management capabilities.
