Royal Gangaur Procession in Jaipur Creates a Spectacle of Grandeur; ‘Budhi Gangaur’ to Conclude Festival on Sunday

Jaipur, March 2026 : The royal procession of the Gangaur Festival 2026 transformed the streets of Jaipur into a vibrant display of culture, devotion, and grandeur on Saturday. As the procession commenced from the City Palace at 5:45 PM, a massive crowd gathered, immersing the Pink City in festive spirit.

Devotees Catch Glimpses of Goddess Gangaur
Amid the beats of drums, the melodious tunes of the shehnai, and chants of “Gaur Mata ki Jai,” devotees thronged the streets to witness the beautifully adorned palanquins carrying the idol of Goddess Gangaur.

Floral Welcome Along the Route
From Tripolia Gate to Chhoti Chaupar and Gangauri Bazaar, people lined rooftops, balconies, and streets, showering flowers on the grand procession.

Tourists Capture Cultural Splendor
The stunning visuals of the procession left Jaipur residents enthralled. Domestic and international tourists were seen capturing the unique cultural moments on their cameras and mobile phones.

Folk Artists Add Vibrancy
A total of 210 folk artists brought the procession to life with captivating performances. Traditional dances like Kachhi Ghodi, Gair, Kalbelia, Chari, and Ghoomar mesmerized spectators, while the sounds of Ravanhatta, Bhapang, and Shehnai filled the air with melody.

32 Traditional Ensembles Enhance Grandeur
The presence of 32 traditional ensembles added to the magnificence of the procession. Decorated elephants, camel contingents, horses, Victoria carriages, and various bands created a regal atmosphere. The inclusion of the Shankar Band for the first time was a special attraction.

Live Telecast Extends Reach Worldwide
As the procession reached Gangauri Bazaar, the celebrations peaked. The event was also broadcast live, allowing people across the country and abroad to witness the grandeur in real time.

‘Budhi Gangaur’ Procession on Sunday
The festival will culminate on Sunday with the royal procession of Budhi Gangaur. According to Deputy Director of Tourism Upendra Singh Shekhawat, the procession will begin at 5:45 PM from City Palace and pass through Tripolia Gate, Chhoti Chaupar, and Gangauri Bazaar before concluding at Talkatora/Pondrik Park.

The Budhi Gangaur procession is considered the symbolic farewell and the most significant phase of the festival, reflecting deep-rooted faith and cultural heritage. Jaipur will once again witness this historic tradition.
