Adequate Fuel and Fertilizer Supply in Rajasthan, Strict Action Against Hoarding: CM

Jaipur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma assured that there is adequate availability of petrol, diesel, LPG, and fertilizers in Rajasthan, and urged the public not to panic. He directed officials to take strict action against illegal storage, refilling, hoarding, and black marketing.

Addressing a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reassured the nation that people will not face difficulties, and emphasized the need for collective efforts to tackle the situation.

The Chief Minister instructed that LPG cylinder deliveries to consumers should not face unnecessary delays and that proper arrangements must be ensured even for large events such as weddings. He added that 24×7 helpline numbers — 181, 112, and 14435 — are operational for quick resolution of LPG-related issues, and directed close monitoring and timely redressal of complaints.

He said district administrations, police, and the supply department have been put on alert to prevent any artificial shortage, hoarding, or black marketing. Consumers applying for refills after the stipulated period should receive prompt service without delays.

Sharma also emphasized accelerating the expansion of the city gas distribution network to reduce dependence on LPG. He directed companies to speed up the provision of piped natural gas connections for households and encourage commercial establishments such as hospitals, hotels, and restaurants to adopt natural gas. Pending approvals for pipeline installations should be cleared within 24 hours by district collectors.

He noted that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has approved a 10 percent additional allocation for commercial LPG and urged officials to ensure full utilization. Additionally, a 20 percent extra allocation of 5-kg LPG cylinders has been provided for hotels, restaurants, dhabas, food processing units, dairy units, industrial canteens, and workers, with strict monitoring to prevent misuse.

On fertilizers, Sharma stated that the central and state governments are working together to maintain adequate supplies of urea, DAP, and other fertilizers. He highlighted that six new urea plants have been set up in the country over the past decade, increasing annual production capacity by over 7.6 million metric tonnes.

The Chief Minister also directed strict vigilance against rumor-mongering and fake news, ensuring that the public does not face inconvenience and that any issues are resolved swiftly.

The meeting was attended by Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, Energy Minister (Independent Charge) Heeralal Nagar, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, along with senior officials from food, finance, agriculture, industry, health, home, energy, and petroleum departments, and representatives of petroleum companies.
