Sakri-1 Solar Power Project with 25 MW Installed Capacity by Mahanirti Commissioned
Mumbai : Mahanirti has successfully commissioned a solar power project with a total installed capacity of 25 MW at Shivajinagar in Sakri Taluka, Dhule district. This project is part of a larger initiative that includes Sakri-1 (25 MW), Sakri-2 (25 MW), and Sakri-3 (20 MW), bringing the total capacity at Sakri to 70 MW. The Sakri-1 project was developed by M/s Godrej & Boyce on an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis, utilizing crystalline solar panels. The project’s capacity utilization factor (CUF) is 20.59%, with an expected annual power generation of 45.09 million units.
On August 21, this solar project was successfully connected to the 220/33 KV Shivajinagar sub-station via the Sakri sub-centre. The Sakri-1 project has also created employment opportunities for 50 people, increasing Mahanirti’s total installed solar power capacity to 428 MW.
Features of the Sakri-1 Project:
- The project is spread across 52 hectares of land, with a total project cost of Rs. 93.12 crores.
- The electricity generated from this project will be sold in the open market.
Sakri: The Solar Hub of Mahanirti
Mahanirti’s 125 MW solar power project at Sakri has been operational for the past ten years. With the completion of the Sakri-1, Sakri-2, and Sakri-3 projects, the total installed capacity at this location will reach approximately 195 MW, establishing Sakri as the “Solar Hub” of Mahanirti.
Mahanirti in Power Trading
Since July 2024, Mahanirti has entered into an agreement with SEZ Biotech Services Private Limited, Pune, for the distribution of 15 MW of solar power.
Ongoing Solar Power Projects
- The Sakri-2 25 MW solar power project is being developed by Tata Power Solar System.
- The Sakri-3 20 MW project is being developed by M/s Swaru.
Both projects are expected to be operational soon.
