Nearly eight lakh agricultural pumps will be directly powered by solar energy.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the distribution of agreements under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Scheme begins today, marking a historic milestone in the coordination of the state’s agriculture and energy policies. Inspired by the leadership of Narendra Modi, the state has resolved to observe the year 2026 as Krishak Kalyan Varsh. The Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Scheme will play a significant role in this major initiative aimed at making farmers prosperous, self-reliant and economically strong. Under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Scheme, solar projects with a capacity of 4,022 megawatts have been allotted. This will enable the supply of electricity at an affordable rate ranging from ₹2.40 to ₹2.85 per unit. He added that Madhya Pradesh is not only a Power State but is rapidly moving towards becoming a Green Power State. Global circumstances clearly demonstrate that a nation must become self-reliant in energy and fuel. The progress being made in solar energy is the result of the farsighted vision of Narendra Modi.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also noted that in the Sanatan tradition, the Sun has always held deep spiritual significance. In the present era, the Sun has emerged as a major source of energy, benefiting everyone. He appreciated the achievements of the Energy Development Corporation for its significant contributions.

Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had gifted the PM MITRA Park to Madhya Pradesh on his birthday, and today Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is presenting the gift of affordable electricity to farmers on his birthday. He said this step reflects the Chief Minister’s sensitivity and commitment towards farmers. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state continues to make steady progress in the energy sector.

He also urged the people of the state to install rooftop solar systems in their homes to generate electricity.

Addressing the event, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manu Shrivastava informed that the state’s first solar-plus-storage project, being developed in Morena, has achieved the lowest tariff so far at ₹2.70 per unit.
