Chief Minister performed havan after worshipping Maa Mahagauri, prayed for public welfare

Havan is performed on the night of Navratri Ashtami as per the tradition of Gorakshapeeth

The rituals of Ashtami concluded with aarti

Gorakhpur, March 2026 : On the Ashtami tithi of Chaitra (Vasantik) Navratri, Chief Minister and Gorakshapeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday night, offered prayers to Maa Mahagauri with proper rituals of worship at the Shaktipeeth located in Gorakhnath Temple. Amid Vedic chants, Chief Minister completed the ritual with havan and aarti as per the tradition of Gorakshapeeth and prayed to Maa Adishakti Jagatjanani for the welfare of the people of the state.

From the very first day of Vasantik Navratri, the sequence of rituals of different forms of Devi Adishakti Bhagwati has been continuing at Gorakhnath Temple. After arriving Gorakhpur on Wednesday, Gorakshapeethadhishwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed the rituals of Maa Mahagauri on Thursday night on the occasion of Navratri Ashtami.

Following this, he performed the Ashtami havan as per the tradition of Gorakshapeeth. The rituals concluded with aarti and distribution of prasad. The ceremonial proceedings were conducted by the priests and acharyas of Gorakshapeeth along with Vedic students.
