Assam, Tamil Nadu Register 3-0 Wins in Girls’ Football; Semifinal Line-up Finalised at Khelo India Tribal Games 2026
Raipur, March 29: On the fifth day of the girls’ football competition under the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026, a high level of excitement and competition was witnessed. Teams from various states displayed excellent performance and fought hard to secure a place in the semifinals.
In the match played at Swami Vivekananda Stadium, Kota Raipur, the Assam team showed excellent coordination and aggressive play to defeat Sikkim 3-0. During the match, Assam players maintained pressure from the beginning and did not give any opportunity to the opposing team.
Similarly, in another match played at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla Stadium, the Tamil Nadu team defeated Andhra Pradesh 3-0 with an outstanding performance. Tamil Nadu players kept the match completely under their control with balanced passing, strong defence and effective attack.
In the competition, the performance of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand teams was especially notable. Chhattisgarh secured the top position in Group ‘A’ by winning all its matches and remained unbeaten, while Jharkhand displayed excellent play in Group ‘B’ and entered the semifinals by winning all its matches.
Among other teams, Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat also performed excellently and made their place in the final four. Thus, the outline of the semifinal matches has now become clear, in which Chhattisgarh will face Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand will compete against Gujarat.
