CM Chairs Key Meeting to Boost Digital Mapping for Project Monitoring
Jaipur, April 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma chaired an important बैठक (meeting) to promote digital mapping in project monitoring with the support of BISAG-N. He said the Viksit Gram–Viksit Ward Abhiyan is creating a roadmap for planned development of villages and cities based on future needs for 2030, 2035, and 2047.
The Chief Minister emphasized that digital mapping is a crucial pillar of this campaign and directed officials to prepare a concrete action plan in collaboration with Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics (BISAG-N). He noted that using this technology will help better understand the real needs of both rural and urban areas and ensure more effective planning.
The meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday, focused on expanding the use of digital mapping across various departmental projects. Sharma said that integrating mapping technology into the campaign will allow authorities to identify region-specific requirements and plan accordingly. He instructed officials to maximize the use of digital mapping tools under the अभियान (campaign).
It was highlighted that the campaign, running from March 19 to May 15, covers more than 14,000 ग्राम पंचायत (village councils) and over 10,000 urban wards.
The Chief Minister also underlined the importance of the PM Gati Shakti initiative, through which BISAG-N is integrating various central ministries on a digital platform. This platform will enable real-time monitoring of development projects, accelerate implementation, enhance transparency, and ensure optimal use of resources.
He directed officials to use this platform at every stage—from planning to execution—to improve efficiency and coordination across departments.
During the meeting, BISAG-N Director General T.P. Singh gave a presentation explaining how GIS-based technology is being used for data integration and mapping of infrastructure projects with precise location details. He said that projects related to roads, railways, energy, water, and urban development are being integrated and monitored on a single platform.
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and senior officials from various departments were also present at the meeting.
