Lucknow : The UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam was successfully conducted on Sunday with no untoward incident reported across 1,174 centers in 67 districts for the third consecutive day. This achievement underscores the Yogi government’s commitment to preventing paper leaks and ensuring a fair examination process.
Recently, CM Yogi Adityanath enacted the Public (Prevention of Unfair Means in Examinations) Act-2024, making offenses under this law non-bailable. This strict measure has deterred those involved in malpractice, such as copy mafias, solver gangs, and paper leaks.
The smooth conduct of the exams over all three days reflects the effectiveness of these stringent actions. Candidates have praised CM Yogi’s promise to ensure a transparent and cheat-free examination process.
Rajeev Krishna, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, said, “As many as 19,84,645 candidates appeared for the exam over three days, out of the 24,64,323 who downloaded admit cards. During the screening process at the examination centres, 318 suspects were identified, all of whom were allowed to take the exam. The board, committed to thorough scrutiny, will conduct further investigation of these individuals. Additionally, over the three-day period, the police registered 29 FIRs and arrested 40 individuals as a preemptive measure to ensure a peaceful examination process.”
He added, “On the third day alone, 6,78,767 candidates appeared for the exam in two shifts. In the first shift, 3,37,647 candidates attended out of 4,10,097 who downloaded admit cards, with 84 suspects identified and permitted to take the exam under observation.
